I repotted and pruned all the jades I had from the same cutting. Now I have seven pots, plus SO many leaves. I feel guilty not propping every leaf, but I also can't have like 30 more jades #plantsmakepeoplehappy #jade #crassula #bonsaisuccs

Shout out to @WickedValkyrie for telling me about jade bonsais on YouTube so I could be brave enough to just go for it
@calvina it does! For some reason I was always in the mindset that a plant will do what's right for it and I shouldn't mess with it, so I have hardly pruned or shaped plants over the years. Other than trimming old leaves there are very few plants I've tried to make branch or shape or something. So happy to see how these shape up (literally)!
@Orchidmomma mostly YouTube and hope ππ
@kendall_4116 the big saucer of them in the second photo are the ones I'm propping, but I still have 10+ that I didn't have room for and I really just don't have room for, but I may try anyway. I've actually given several of these jades away already (I was down to the 4 from 7+ π). I've thought about selling, but it's tough selling things these days when you don't use social media π€·π½ We will see!

@WickedValkyrie thanks again!
Apparently this should have been my #springintosummer post ππ
@PlantMompy I used to be so worried about trimming plants, but when you see the better regrowth you know itβs a great idea. Like trimming my pothos/philodendrons, they will give 2-4 new growth points from a single cut!
@WickedValkyrie that feels like cheating. Lol
@Jana85 I've already given away so many I've the years. Some piece of this little jade has been in my family for 15+ years. π¬
@vvvelo A-DORABLE
@HoyaAddict it's funny because I have no fear propping succulent leaves, I've chopped ficus (which scare me but gotta do it when they hit the ceiling) and vines I'm like "whatever" for but others I'm petrified. Idk why π€·π½ that's why Greg is the best, now I'm like, scared but not petrified π

@PlantMompy 15 yearsβhow awesome! π
@Jana85 @WickedValkyrie
My brother went to HS for forestry and horticulture. One of his assignments was to repot a ton of jades. At open house, my dad took one and has had it forever.
Probably 6-7 years ago I took a cutting. He was terrified I'd kill his plant, I was confident I would not. Lol.
I brought it home and the stem promptly rotted away into nothing π but I had the leaves and tossed them to prop. They all made babes, some wouldn't die so I snapped them off and they made babies again. There were so many jades π€¦π½π.
I actually just gave my brother one back a couple years ago when he bought his first house!
So while I haven't had it 15 years, it's had a pretty cool run!
I also have a Christmas cactus cutting that is from my step-dad's plant. She belonged to his grandmother. He also got my grandfather's Christmas cactus when he passed. π

@PlantMompy thatβs totally awesome! So many good memories associated with these little jades! π₯°
Thanks @ShaeWayBaby! My husband got it for me years ago and is finally getting the use it deserves!
