This is what happens when you keep a #HensAndChicks in too small a pot, on too dark a shelf for too long. Is it wrong that I actually LOVE it!?!?!? 😍 I know it needs to be repotted but I really want to keep its bizzaro shape. 😁 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Sempervivum #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #WhatTheSuccWednesday #StrangePlants
10ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
That is so cool!
@LaSiguanaba That is the coolest and strangest #HensAndChicks I’ve ever seen! πŸ˜πŸ’šπŸ’š
I love it when they do this kind of stuff. I think it looks πŸ‘
@ForestDweller Right? That’s why I’ve left it alone. 😁
@JazzyGardeNerd It’s the strangest succulent I’ve ever seen and I love it! 😍
@Stall54Jo It’s so cool! I want to repot it but in a way that will maintain this growth pattern… πŸ€”
@LaSiguanaba
I really love it 😍 lots soo cute!
It’s an elephant now!
That’s funny I was going to say that looked so pretty before I read your post!! ❀️‍πŸ”₯ πŸ˜† I am sorry but I like it.. πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»
@LaSiguanaba I wonder if you could train it to a certain shape....continue the etiolation, but secure it to a wire loop or something? 😜
It is neat. As someone else posted earlier, it's not strange or wrong, it's one of a kind! πŸ€—
WOW, I love it too!!! 😍
Leave it alone! I love it!
It’s really unique! Nature is so cool!!!
@Artonina It is!
@CourtlyKingfern I actually like it too Evelyn! ☺️ It’s just so strange and interesting, but I guess that describes nature pretty well. It’s definitely one of a kind. 😁
That thing is going on an adventure and I love it
@UltraKoreanfir I think if I keep it in a tall, narrow pot, it will continue to grow this way. I’m just concerned there is no longer enough substrate for the roots. Otherwise, I’d just leave it in this pot. 😁 I think it’s very cool too!
@JesssJungle Me too Jess!
@BrightBlueberry I’m just concerned there isn’t enough soil for the roots, but I want to keep the shape too. πŸ˜‰
@Seleni Thanks! I’m here for it! 😁
@LaSiguanaba I want to try to make mine do that! πŸ˜‚πŸ’š
I'm always for individuality. Likely it will keep that shape even in a new pot.
@JazzyGardeNerd My secret? Benign neglect! πŸ˜‚ Good luck!
@AspenGardens Me too… I think the shape will stay, especially in a similar pot.
@Imissmydeaddog Thanks!
That actually looks gorgeous 😍 I think u shud Def let continue its journey
It is special!
@gAnderson I think you’re right 😊
@GrayGranny I love it. 😍
Love it.
@FunKeylimetree Thanks Marie!
Literally stunning!! I love when succulents grow naturally like that. I see your qualms surrounding a repot - might be top-heavy until it gets its roots settled in
@PoetCashew Thanks! Yeah, my concern it that there is just not enough soil left for the plant and it really needs a refresher. On the other hand, I love how it’s growing and don’t want to disrupt that…
I love the way,she look too. I think the name Hens And Chicks is so cool!!!
I like the way it looks , I was thinking it is a cool looking plant but, Ididn’t know know
What kind of plant it is
@SweetAzurebluet Thanks! I love the way she just took on this unique shape without me really doing anything. Nature always finds a way! 😁
@HolyYankeeweed Thanks, I love the shape too β€”normally they don’t grow this way. The plant is a sempervivum, more commonly known as hens and chicks. 🐀
Yep
I have a hens and chicks too that I'm currently growing. It almost died from being in a pot too big for it under an overhang outside that was almost never watered.
@Catplantaddict Glad it survived! I need to repot this one because there is very little dirt left, but I don’t want to lose the shape it’s taken. I’ll have to find another tall, skinny pot! πŸ˜‚
