Thought I would share some pics of my leopard geckos new bioactive habitat!
Got a ton of cool live plants for her β˜ΊοΈπŸ¦ŽπŸ’— and I'm super proud of how it turned out! #bioactiveterrarium #happyplants #desert #newplants #terrarium
I have always wanted to have reptiles tbh. Anyways, it's looking great!
Omd im in love!! She is unbelievably cute! What sort of plants would you recommend for leopard geckos? Having one has always been a dream of mine (though it won’t be coming true for a long while yet!), and so if you had any advice then I’d be happy to hear it!
@slothz Hey Emma, this is super cool as I love geckos 🦎 and I love to know more about how you got into them and your terrarium.
@PiousWaterfern tysm!! πŸ’—πŸ’— Most plants are safe due to leopard geckos being insectivores, they are unlikely to eat the plants BUT some things to consider when picking the plants is, heat/desert arid tolerant, succulents without spines/spikes/sharp pieces, plants that doesn't give off sap. But to be safe try and go for all non toxic plants some great options some that I actually used in mine, Aloe and any hybrids, spider plants, lithops, Jade plants, Thornless Cactus Pad, Echeveria, and Haworthia.
Another great resource is the BioDudes website for reference or even purchase

Anything under the flora tab is safe for animals!
@slothz ooo that’s sounds like a really good mix. Thanks for the link!!
@Seymour Hi, sorry for such the late response. I'm pre vet med so I love all animals, and have a ton of knowledge.
I've actually never had any reptiles so she's my first. Her story is that she was left in the dumpster in her enclosure and my friend found her. She was extremely overweight, had necrosis on her toes due to stuck shed and he was able to nurse her back to health and after that he needed to rehome her so and I decided to take her in. πŸ’—πŸ¦Ž
