@Plants_Galore I've got all mine snuggled up in front of my only good window 😄 I just saw that Wednesday and Thursday there's a chance for snow here in San Antonio! Flurries at least! I'm such a child when I hear snow! Haha
@JackHenrysMom 👍😊 My son is in Houston! Well Pearland. I have a Meyer lemon tree in a pot that won't fit in the house lol I had to lay it on its side and cover it with a tarp. If we don't get any heavy winds I'm sure it will be alright.
@JackHenrysMom What side of Houston are you on? I lived in Houston my whole life and didn't realize how big it really was until I moved to the East Coast. States on that side of the country are so small! It felt like a drive from one side of Houston to the other, where I was in South Carolina, you could be in a whole other state! Did I say that right? Lol I'm tired.
@princesspitstop oh yeah it blows my mind how many states you can cover on the east coast vs just staying in one city down here. I’m in oak forest (off 290, N of 610) but I grew up on the SE side off 45 just S of UofH
@JackHenrysMom oh ok the only thing I know on that side of town is Gallery Furniture lol I pretty much stayed inner loop Montrose, midtown until we moved out of state. I grew up off of 45 as well but south of where you were Almeda Mall Sagemont area. Oh no. I didn't realize how late it was already. Good night stay warm! 😴😊

@Hoyaobsessed lol exactly! Never fails. I mean I'd be happy with some rain that I can collect to water my plants with! Lol I didn't realize I was moving to the desert. Haha
@princesspitstop I hear you I moved to Texas from California. And I miss all the things I could grow outdoors almost year around there ! Moved here and the selection for a flower garden is slim and I am not into any of the “Texas hardy” options.
@Hoyaobsessed Wow! Talk about culture shock right? My husband lived in California for a few years in his younger years and I've been there on vacation. The terrain here in the hill county sometimes reminds me of the landscape there. Planting zones are a bit different. I'm in an apartment so I can do even less. How long have you been here?
@Hoyaobsessed Sorry to hear that lol life is too short to be unhappy about where you live! That's a major part of ones life! Maybe you need to think about moving a little further south. The Gulf Coast isn't too bad. I just looked at the weather and it's changed again. Saying that it's going to be 100% chance of snow on Thursday!
Un happy with my home .. friends… job… no not at all. But the lack there of of my surroundings yes ! No beautiful scenery and I do miss growing lots of pretty flowers in my yards . I was raised in a floral shop and greenhouse and am a florist still today . So flowers are a huge part of me. I miss that very much . Have you ever been to Abilene?? You’d be amazed at what can grow in San Antonio and can’t where I’m at!
@Hoyaobsessed Oh yeah I understand how that would bother you. No, never that far North. Well, Dallas once. As far as scenery goes I miss living in South Carolina and how beautiful it was. We lived in the Piedmont region of the Blue Ridge mountains but could be on the Atlantic coast in a matter of hours. I'm in desperate need of a body of water! I feel that in my soul!

Hanging in there! I live in an older area and have elderly neighbors so we’re making sure everyone is ok. Also my chickens! They’re not loving it but they’ll be ok. Hoping for the best with my outdoor in-ground gardens, as I don’t have the material to cover them all but they’ve been in the ground at least three years. And I took out the best of my pond plants to make a garage pond for the winter. 🌱☀️❤️🐓❄️❄️❄️❄️
@RealSimpleMama hope all your elderly neighbors stay safe. And your chickens stay happy. 🐓🐥 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your in ground plants. Let us know how they turn out. My mum’s lemon just started to bloom again from the frost 2 years ago. A garage pond sounds lovely. Did you just suggest a new house Reno goal? Didn’t know I wanted one til now. ☺️
@princesspitstop so far… 50/50 success. Some plants are alive and that’s all that I can say about them and others are well… unalive. Hahaha. They got my calathea so bad and I feel like it happened over night. There was no redeeming that fickle bugger so trash she went.
@PrizedShadscale When it happens, and it's inevitable, we just have to roll with the punches. They're just making room for new plants come Spring.
@princesspitstop except it got the alocasia I was going to give to @RealSimpleMama so must rehab it and be pest free!!!! I have a corm I’m working on just in case.
@PrizedShadscale lol! My pond is the easiest laziest thing ever. No pump or filter, and the plants go crazy. I did grab my favorites out, like a monster double water lily, to throw into my makeshift garage pond.
@princesspitstop it’s wonderful until you remember that you ordered plant mail not realizing it would freeze so you didn’t buy heat packs with it so now you praying 🙏 that they’ll arrive without any damage the plus is that the cold kills the bugs though.
@Plants_Galore hi! Nope. This is a really shallow kit and it wasn’t deep enough for fish to escape predators. In my dream home I’ll dig out a deep one with caves and awnings so they can hide, but raccoons and possums and birds can go fishing in this little one!
@Plants_Galore Oh no that's horrible that you'd have to buy them and they wouldn't look out for you and put one in there for you anyway. 😔 If I ever have a business I'm not going to make customers pay for them.
