My work #Amaryllis bloomed! I wasnβt expecting this for at least another few days! He was really in a hurry. And look how gorgeous π I got the bulb without knowing what color the flowers would be, so this is a really wonderful surprise! He is absolutely beautiful ππ€©π₯³ And look at that leaf spread. He is NOT messing around. There are 6 flower buds on one stalk, and 4 on another! Iβm in for quite a show π€πΈπΈπΈπΈ #StripedTubedAmaryllis #HappyPlants floweringPlants">#floweringPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy blooming">#blooming #BeautifulBlooms #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantLove #UnderratedPlants #babevila #PinkPlantsofGreg

@LaBori276 They need lots of light and you need to keep the soil moist but not soggy πΏ
@TryCorncob13 Here is a link on howβI have a different one from last year that Iβm hoping is going to rebloom soon, since I followed the directions but itβs still in the leaf growing stage, but Iβll keep you posted if Iβm successful! https://www.gardeners.com/how-to/get-amaryllis-to-bloom-again/5411.html?cq_med=&cq_net=x&cq_plac=&cq_plt=gp&cq_pos=&g_acctid=543-582-4261&g_adgroupid=&g_adid=&g_adtype=none&g_campaign=PMAX_Zombies&g_campaignid=21850149343&g_keyword=&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMAX_Zombies&utm_term=&SC=GGLPLA&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA8Lu9BhA8EiwAag16b_I8qa3XfPNi_Xt9IHZ-Fzh-7dCE4rSj4B03oAD3co_TBxadPDeguBoCAsEQAvD_BwE
@TryCorncob13 PS the article (and many others) recommends planting it outside for the summer in the ground, but I did not do that because I was worried it would get eaten by wildlife. So I put it outside in one of those hanging metal baskets with the coconut fiber lining so it drains really well! It worked great and got through the summer just fine.
@BabeVila Thank you so much!
@BabeVila do you remove the withered flowers
I moved her to a bright spot but not direct light

@LaBori276 oh sorry I didnβt realize you had one that already bloomed. Yes I remove the flowers as they fade. Once they are all gone, I wait a few days for the flower stalk to start to wilt, and then I cut that too. I suppose you could cut it sooner, but I always wait for some reason lol. I put ground cinnamon on the place where I cut the stalk off, to protect from any infections since itβs usually a pretty big surface area. And then I keep the leaves like a regular houseplant so it can gather up energy to bloom again next year π
@BabeVila oh thank you so much
I will do the same π₯°

@LaBori276 I linked an article above that explains how to get it to rebloom! I followed the directions last year with a different amaryllis, which is just now starting to grow new leaves! So we shall we if it worked pretty soon! But definitely check out the article if youβre interested ππΏ
@LaBori276 @TryCorncob13 this is the one that is growing right now, which I followed the directions in the article for last year! Fingers crossed I did it right! πΈπΈπΈ
