@clairsheart had to otherwise the center of the root ball eventually wouldnโt get any water. If it werenโt severely root bound I wouldnโt have touched the roots. It was pretty solid ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ needed to be done and Iโd rather do it now while itโs still small because those roots will triple and possibly quadruple in size as it gets bigger. Potted it in a planter 1.5 inches bigger than it was in. Put soil in the bottom of the new pot, then placed the old pot inside the new one, filled it up with soil around the sides, pulled it out, untangled the roots and placed it in the hole and filled it in. Iโm pretty confident it will be perfectly fine. Iโve seen videos saying not to untangle but Iโve also seen videos where theyโve said to untangle a bit so the roots wonโt keep growing in a circle.
