Just wanted to show you my semps tackling cold weather. Some of them got sunburned! I had no idea I should water them when it’s freezing at night. #SucculentLove #Sempervivum #OutdoorGrowing #chickcharms #HensAndChicks

@Artonina story of my life lol! & yes mine all are outside year round. I had a good bunch of them, lost all but 4.. one even has a chick pushing πŸ₯Ή
Those are absolutely beautiful! I have a love hate relationship with mine but they are trying to bounce back lol. The red one is just…. Ugh 😍
@Artistic_Stoner thank you! I got a some of mine sunburned, rotten, and perished before their time… are you keeping yours outdoors?
@Artistic_Stoner nooooooooo 😭 what caused the loss?
@Artonina my soil, & my material in a pot.. I had too much sand in my soil causing it to compact, so it didn’t let water run through very well & didn’t let the roots breathe OR dry out fast enough.. So I changed around my mix of soil, & strictly use nothing but terracotta pots because they are the most porous to dry out quick. It’s been a learning experience but I have over 68 varieties of succulents & haven’t lost any since 😬
@Artistic_Stoner wow! What a journey! I am happy for your survivors πŸ’š I wanna go for terracotta pots or wooden crates for the next summer
@Artonina Gosh thank you, my heart couldn’t take root rot anymore lol. Luckily the experience taught me to be quick & catch when something is wrong. I highly recommend terracotta, especially if there’s any trouble of soil drying out!
