Spring is Here and everyone is popping off!
The colors, the new growth, the blooms! ππΈ This is just a snapshot of all the repotting I've been doing over my spring break. Most of my succulents have been put outside for the growing season and oh my gosh, they're already stunning! Please forgive the layer of pollen and damaged leaves, we had a hail storm roll through a few weeks ago and my poor plants got a little beat up π I'm so excited for summer and for all of my plants to really start growing ππ±

@Artistic_Stoner since you asked how the collection was doing recently π
@Charli3Plant wow! Those blooms and coloring of your succulents are gorgeous!!π€©
@RefinedSandwort thank you! I got some Barrina lights over the winter and they really held their color. Of course, nothing beats the sun and rain.
@TooUnique absolutely! The learning curve can be steep, but if you're patient, they're worth the effort.
@Charli3Plant My eyes, my heart, my happiness for how freaking gorgeous everything is πππ I appreciate so much you tagged me!! let me ask if I may, average how often are you watering them since they are outside & getting lots of sun? I have a couple that Iβm hesitant to overwater but they are showing signs of thirst at least 4-5 days after a good soak, it being in the upper 80s it makes sense.. but just curious cause itβs not often you come across many who grow them outside!
@Artistic_Stoner I'm so glad I could bring you so much joy! π
Hmm...it depends. My collection is like, 90% Echeveria with a few Graptopetalums, Sedums, and Pachyphytums w/ some hybrids. The thinner, frillier Echeverias do well with being watered about once a week in the heat of summer. The chunkier ones can go 1.5-2 weeks before they need a good drink. My area tends to get a lot of rain in July and August, so I didn't have to worry about it a whole lot last year. Most of them are in clay/terracotta pots, which does dry out significantly faster. I'd say that if your plants are showing signs they're thirsty to go for it, especially if your soil mix is well draining. Just gotta play around with it to find what works for your plants and your environment. ππ±

Everytime I look at the first photo, it looks so much like a proud conductor about to conduct his beautiful small orchestra.

Me again!
Just tried to follow you, but it's not working π³

@Charli3Plant thank you! Itβs always this time of year I have a hard time finding a balance in the transition of winter to spring watering here in Florida.. So itβs nice to hear a perspective/confirmation π
I never use anything besides terracotta for succulents, wayyy too many close calls with anything other! Thank you again π±π
@Artistic_Stoner I feel that! One day it's 85, the next it's dropping to freezing, then it's raining, then it's a beautiful 65 degree day lolol. Just gotta roll with the punches.
@CutePolypremum Haha, you're so right! Good eye catching that π
@TidyWoodruff thank you! Good luck with your plants!
@Charli3Plant Ainβt that the truth! Itβs been 87-90 this week, itβs going to rain a light shower tomorrow & be in the mid 70s this coming week.. Florida all in itself canβt make up its mind π Anyways, hope you & the plant babies have an awesome day, happy growing my friend π
