Does this picture make anyone actually want to buy this? I mean…..let’s just let it swallow the house up next …. #MyPlantWantsToBeInternetFamous #optimizedsubstrate

It’s big and beautiful! ❤️
@TexanExpat Great photo John although it almost looks AI. But Elephant Ears can grow pretty big!
Can’t imagine such a plant would be cheap ! Only one review of 4/5??? Was it too small ??? 😮
Great photo (although AI). Are humans on the brink of extinction? 😆
@TexanExpat love the single smaller leaf 😂🤣
It likely was AI. It was a product picture for some colocasia on sale on Amazon. My point was who would want to buy it based on that pic
@SvelteKingfern likely a ego-driven nuclear wipeout if a world leader calls Trump fat before any synthetic life forms come to power
@TexanExpat @Seymour If it's too good to be true right? Like that plant shop I was looking at online the other day! Scammers. 😡 The trick is you order their gorgeous plants online, they give you a legit tracking number but when your "plants" arrive it's a pair of cheap earbuds. I did a deep dive curious about what the lick was. They're getting coal for Christmas this year!
Who would buy a plant like that? Someone who wants a plant that gives a lot of shade 😁. Not THAT big in Oz, but almost. @TexanExpat @Seymour
Let's hope it's only a bad dream. 😆 @TexanExpat
Well, it’s the part I can’t seem to wake up from that is the issue …
Honestly, I was surprised to learn about Trump 2. Especially after all those Court commotions.
One of the Aussie gigants
May be cheaper than buying the supplies to build a privacy fence! lol
I thought AI too when I saw that, but maybe it’s a throwback to a different time. I will post some photos of my neighbor’s house later when it’s not dark out. They have some crazy big plants growing, but they still don’t look like that lovely beast.
@princesspitstop interesting. So for me I instantly recognized the layout and font as belonging to bloomscape, which is what they do to lend their operation credibility. Every organization is different but perhaps shooting an email to bloomscape might be welcomed by them given it hurts their brand to have an imposter using their branding.
@Hoyaobsessed unless you get a frost or some Godzilla sized thrips !
@TexanExpat The question being is a website layout style copywritten? A design your own website company like Wix.com has a group of generic layouts to choose from. You're correct though they do look an awful lot alike. Definitely worth letting them know just in case. I'll send it. Just to give them a heads up. 👍
@princesspitstop you just had to ask the lawyer eh? I promise you, Bloomscape does not use Wix. Not that there is anything wrong with Wix, it’s just that Wix is better suited for small businesses needing a cost effective solution. A national brand will want something more unique. They paid a premium for a custom design job. The fraudulent site’s imitation of Bloomscape’s layout and plant presentation potentially infringes on multiple areas of intellectual property: copyright, trademark, and trade dress. Copyright protects creative elements like unique images and text, while trademark safeguards logos, brand identifiers, and distinctive features that signal the source of goods or services. Trade dress extends this protection to the overall look and feel of a business, including non-functional design elements that consumers associate with the brand. By replicating Bloomscape’s distinctive layout and aesthetic—even without copying the exact logo or planters—the fraudulent site risks confusing consumers and undermining Bloomscape’s brand identity and reputation. To address this, Bloomscape should document the similarities, issue a cease-and-desist letter, file takedown requests with hosting platforms, and, if necessary, pursue legal action for infringement and unfair competition. Additionally, public warnings to consumers can help protect its brand and prevent further harm.
@TexanExpat I asked the right person indeed! It definitely needs to be addressed. Scam sites like that one absolutely should be shut down. It shouldn't surprise me that if they are not above ripping people off that they would not think twice about carbon copying a proven successful company's website. I'm sending an email with screenshots to them now.
Thanks for the information I am sure they will be appreciative. I do not purchase from Bloomscape and would have had no idea otherwise. Good catch!
You’re very welcome. It is no coincidence that they copy bloomscape, it makes them seem reputable @princesspitstop
I want one, but where would I put it?
Hi, John!
