Happy Saturday #GregGang ! Today I built another mini bog garden with some red VFTs, a sarracenia purpurea, and a ping. Hope these guys play well together!!! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub #cpclubthursday #VenusFlyTrap #Sarracenia #Pinguicula #boggarden
@RichlyProfilica Hi Duyentnpb. I am not sure what you mean, but I think you are wondering why there is a trap turning brown and dying. This is fine, and is part of a normal growth pattern for VFTs. The traps only survive being triggered a few times, then they have βserved their purposeβ and wither away. You can just cut off any traps that go brown, as this will not hurt the overall health of the VFT. Please let me know if this answered your question. Otherwise, Iβm happy to try again! π
@LaSiguanaba Ohh yes thank you so much thatβs exactly what I was wondering. I would love to know about the humidity and how damp soils should be coz I have seen some pictures people really have a soggy soils.
@RichlyProfilica VFTs are bog plants, which means they like to stay very wet. You want to keep your pot sitting in a saucer with about an inch of distilled water. It is very important to use distilled or rain water for VFTs because regular tap water will eventually kill them. Also, you want to make sure itβs getting enough light. It should get at least 8 hrs of direct sunlight, or 14-16 hrs under a growlight. Let me know if you need any other info! βΊοΈ
@Macstracks Thanks! Iβve been going thru distilled water like crazy since itβs been in the 90s all week. I need to get a distiller soon! π
@LaSiguanaba yes you do !!!
