Is this philodendron too young to attach to a moss pole? I just got it a new to these plants. If not which part of it do I attach? I’d appreciate any advice as a newbie. I try YouTube videos but they’re usually mature plants or they’re not specific enough. Thanks! πŸ™ #help #philodendronfloridaghost #Philodendron #PlantAddict
Nothing is too young for a moss pole. Rule number one in plant ownership-there are no rules. Rule #2 of plant ownership-don’t attach the petioles to the moss poleπŸ₯°
@Dakdanrus oh, there are definitely rules. My personal number one rule: don't overwater your plants! πŸ˜› It's the first thing I tell new plant parents because overwatering is the most common way they end up killing their plants. But you are right about it never being too soon to add a support structure. In the case of this plant @user141fc969 , I'd focus on keeping the moss pole damp and let the plant's aerial roots find their way naturally, instead of restricting it with ties or Velcro, which can be more damaging to younger plants.
@stephonicle I’ll go remove the Velcro πŸ˜‚ I did make sure to place the tiny aerial root up against the pole.
Attach anywhere u see a node (sm protrusion that would become a leaf)
