How to fertilize ZZ Plant
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your ZZ Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Got my second plant, ZZ. It’s name is Seraphina, I received some really good comments on my first plant Stellan a night back. These two are gonna be my only two plants for now. I’d ask the experts around here for any suggestions to take care of ZZ. Is it gonna be different than a snake plant? I’d appreciate the inputs.

ZeeZee the Zamio is my first plant of year 2025.... 😍 7 plants in a pot cost only usd4.90, because Chinese new year is coming, so most of the money plants were in special price in that nursery. And I repotted them when I reached home from the nursery because the nursery soil was dripping. I thought they were zenzi because of their size, and I was super happy because I always wanted a zenzi and finally I bought one for myself, but then realized they were regular zz with stem cuttings when I took them out from the nursery soil LOL (huge disappointment 😭). Anyway, it's my first time owning a zz, and I'm quite good with killing succulents... so wish me and ZeeZee the Zamio a good luck ahead. 🤣 #plantsmakepeoplehappy #zzplant

What's happening?? Lately, my ZZ and snake plants have been yellowing. The snake plant actually jumped out of the pot, and no roots were attached in the blades that fell. Ot was so dramatic...I've had them for some time and relocated them from Florida to NYC, and they were fine until the end of last summer. I tried repotting, changing the soil, decreasing their water intake. And the snake plant died. But I'm holding on yo my ZZZ plant for dear life. He was my first plant when I moved to Florida. His name is Carl and I don't want to lose him.

Tips of leaves turned brown and yellowing toward the stem. Only happening on newer growth. Old stems seem ok. It grew so well over the summer and out out lots of new growth, so I’m pretty bummed. Should I trim? If so, how/where? #ZzPlant

ZZ Plant Is Losing It’s Color I noticed a few leaves turning yellow and brown when I was away last week. I made sure she was watered and the soil was pretty dry when I did so. The leaves are still turning as you can see from this photo. Does anyone have an idea as to what could be causing this?

Hi, we've had our Zz plant for 4.5 years and it just started having these white spots on several of the leaves. Any tips for what I can do to treat them if they are something harmful for the plant? #ZzPlant

What other plant parents say
I’ve had my ZZ for a year and a half now, overwatered once and thought I was going to lose her, but she bounced back! Let ZZs dry out between waters and be sure to trim dying leaves off immediately when you see them. Also, if a whole stem is dying, prune right down to soil, or a little bit underneath, then cover over with some soil - it’ll grow right back. When pruning, be sure to use the right size shears because ZZs do not like jagged cuts.
