How to fertilize Zonale Geranium

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Zonale Geranium after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My poor Jerry My husband bought Jerry for me for Christmas. He had big beautiful flowers and a ton of new buds then, but now, literally nothing :( all I seem to do is pull off the dead leaves all around him. His leaves are deep green otherwise, but he is just not wanting to flower. What am I doing wrong? We are in AZ, the weather has been almost perfect. He has some kind of direct sunlight but he gets shade from his friends and a post next to him so he doesn’t get too much. What do you all think?

I can't wait til Friday to show off Icarus here- if you know my plants, you know they were almost exclusively from my late father who never bothered googling their preferred care. It took me way too long to figure out what he even is, what with the attempt at becoming a tree due to light deficit. While trying to secure the spindly stalks a while back, I accidentally broke one off, felt terrible, and shoved it back into the soil hoping for the best. It thrived, so I went back and started cutting to bring him back down to less-above-average geranium height. With a lot more direct light, he's sending out all kinds of new leaves and is way less likely to topple himself over. I don't think all of the cuttings are going to survive, but what is, is vastly better and I'm just so thrilled at all this happy growth. I haven't updated his profile yet if you're curious how far he's come in just over 2 months! #zonalegeranium #newgrowth #rescueplants #happyplants #plantrehab #freshleaffriday #freshleaves

My girl is 1week old in our home. While I removed dead and dried growth, she is developing more yellow leaves. Is she suffering from shock? I lightly fed and watered her 2 days ago. Top soil is damp. Too much water? I'm stumped! Help please! #ZonaleGeranium

What other plant parents say

This plant is great at propagating! Every time I turn around it has grown another bloom. It has beautiful blooms with pretty leaves as well. Also has a wonderful smell to it as well. Not too much a high maintenance either!

martin grew extremely quickly. he was propagated and grew around 20 leaves and plenty of flowers within months. he lives by the window and grew in one direction due to the speed of his growth so i recommend spinning your new zonale regularly
