Beautiful, rich, green leaves. The vertical growth and leaves all the way up the stem makes it a very stand out plant.
The only âproblemâ Iâve had with this plant is that it likes a warmer climate (nothing below 65°F) and where I live gets quite cold so keeping the temperature consistent can at times be a challenge in winter months.

This is one of the most interesting plants I own and I love its bright new leaves as well as the dark mature leaves. I started out with less than 5 branches and now thereâs well over 20! This plant did really well in the winter and has continued to grow all year round. It does attract pesky pest and can be very annoying when theyâre flying around or crawling around in the soil.
This plant requires lots and lots of attention, sunlight, and water. I plan to repot it this summer and see how propagation goes.
Overall, this has become one of my favor friends!

Both of my ZZ plants are among my favorite plants because theyâre so resilient. They can go a long while without being watered, and do pretty well in low light situations (Eg far from a window, north-facing window).
Keep an eye out for the little âroot ballsâ that form at or slightly below the soil surface. These are called rhizomes and they store extra water, like a camelâs back does, and theyâre one of the reasons ZZ plants are awesome.

ZZ plants are extremely forgiving and basically thrive off of neglect. I water mine thoroughly once a month and itâs GOOD. Because they donât require much water, the soil isnât moist a lot, therefore, making this a plant that doesnât really attract pests such as fungus gnats which are the most common.
