About Tradescantia Zebrina
Tradescantia zebrina is an exceptionally easy plant to care for and rewards growers with delightful white and purple blossoms. Their leaves have characteristic stripes, which is where they get the name Zebrina! They are extremely easy to propagate by stem and one plant can give rise to dozens of new ones, which makes them great for sharing. 🤝 As houseplants they often trail, but will also creep along the ground if grown outdoors. Their succulent leaves make them sensitive to frost, so be sure to bring them indoors if your winter temperatures dip below freezing. ❄️

How to fertilize Tradescantia Zebrina

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Tradescantia Zebrina after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Why the yellow leaves? Why is my #tradescantia #zebrina turning yellow? I've been watering it when the soil feels dry and it's been healthy all winter. I read on the internet to water it with banana water for fertilizer, and I did. Could that be the reason? Please help me #help #yellowleaves #crunchyedges #tradescantia #zebrina #wanderingdude #zebraplant #plantlovers

Hi everyone. I’m becoming increasingly worried about my #TradescantiaZebrina . I originally got her for my terrarium, but she got a little mildew-ey- naturally, I take her out, pot her up and I put her up in one of my wall pots- but I’m still really worried about her. Any advice?

My tradescantia hasn’t been doing too good due to neglect on my part. I have been going through a bit of a depression burnout lately and have been struggling with keeping up with a few of my plants. I trimmed off all the dead stuff and replanted all the vines then gave the pot a good water. I know it could use a shallow pot but I don’t have one at the moment so plain old terracotta pot will have to do for now. #PlantAddict #Neglected #Oof #MyBad #TradescantiaZebrina

Is my wandering Jew a goner? I neglected many of my plants watering them far less than I normally do because I got overwhelmed with work for a few months going into the end of the year. My wandering Jew seems like it may be completely dead but I can see signs of life in a couple spots at the end of the vines. Any idea on whether I should have any hole and if so what I should do barons the basics to revive this plant?? #WanderingJew

Is it normal for stems and leaves to just fall off at random? I just recently bought it so I'm just thinking it has to adjust first #Zebrina

My little plant has a mix of brown leaves and purple/green leaves. It’s near a window and outside has gotten colder. Seems obvious but should I snip out all of the brown leaves? It’s a lot!:( #Zebrina

What other plant parents say

I actually hate this plant but it feels rude to give it 5 stars just because it doesn’t spark joy. I’ll probably put it outside soon and just let it vibe out there so I don’t have to look at it anymore. Basically idiot proof though - I’ve been actively trying to kill it for months and it’s still hanging on.
