Almost a year ago, I obtained a seedling #wishlistplant and it continues to be one of the rarest plants in my collection, on a purely availability basis. The plant is a #Thaumatophyllum āAfrican Fantasyā formerly known as #Philodendron āAngelaā and sheās beginning to be a bit of a beast! What are some of the rarest plants in your collection? Rare doesnāt have to be trendy or expensive, just uncommon. Have you ever seen an African Fantasy for sale? Does this plant shed leaves often #CutLeafPhilodendron

Iāve had this plant for only a month and some of the leaves got sunburned before I got it inside. What is the best way to trim out the dead leaves? Do I cut at the base of the plant? Also, should I tie up the heavy leaves so they are not falling?

Is this an air root already? Lol it's so cute! š #SplitLeafPhilodendron

Can anyone tell me what these orange spots are on the leaf? They are on a few leaves. #CutLeafPhilodendron

How long until it matures? I got a Variegated Philodendron Goeldii Mint about a month ago and while I realize it's still a young plant, I can't seem to find any info as to how long it takes for it to mature and form its leaf circle. I've included a current pic of my plant plus what it'll eventually look like šš How long do I have to wait? Does anyone happen to know? THRIPER THRIPERS Helpppppp I think my poor baby that I already saved from the bin has thrips. ššš I came into the office today and noticed some white flecks on the stems and upon closer inspection saw tiny black bugs all over the leaves. I sprayed it down with Earth Allys 3-in-1 but what can I do to make sure I actually eradicate the pests? Should I get those yellow sticky things? Repot it? He's finally doing well after months of rehabbing from other issues so I'm taking this very personally. The photos were taken after I sprayed the shit out of it, so kinda hard to see the bugs but wanted to include anyways in case someone can confirm what I'm dealing with Also, there are lots of plants up here, should I treat all of them to be safe or no? #SplitLeafPhilodendron #thripsbegone #pestcontrol

save the philo, part 2 i deleted the part 1 post because the first attempt didn't produce any roots. but i forgot to note the greggers who gave advice and wanted updates š©š i hope you will identify yourselves again. as background, the philo is in the shadow of a giant bambu grove we need to cut down. i want to move it to a safer spot with better lighting. this time i was inspired by @Gustavo to 'air layer', to encourage some new root growth above the spot where the trunk will be cut. hopefully this will improve its chances of surviving transplant. 1) cut a shallow ring around the bark, removing the outermost and second layer 2) spread rooting hormone on the exposed inner layer 3) cover with moist peat moss 4) wrap with plastic to keep moisture in and bugs out, secure with zip ties 5) check periodically and hope roots appear! #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PropagationStation #SplitLeafPhilodendron

what are these orange-brown spots on my tree philodendron? is it getting too much sun, or too low humidity, or any other conditions? direct sun only hits this plant around 9-11 am. itās outdoor; the temperature ranges from minimum 16Ā°C at night, and around 28Ā°C maximum at day. strong winds, humidity levels around 40-50%. iām living in indonesia, and itās peak summer/dry season here. besides the yellow spots on leaves, thereās also these weird dry spots on one of the stems. what are these, and should i do anything about it? thereās 2 new growing leaves on the way, i want to give the best care for this baby :( please help, thank you!
