What other plant parents say
Hi! Lucky you pet owners, this plant is pet friendly!! I'm absolutely in love with the string plants, they are gorgeous hanging and sitting plants. Look great with the vines trailing off the edge…
Likes lots of light! Not direct but definitely needs a well lit spot. It is loving its spot in my kitchen and is thriving with tons of new growth. It’s a beauty to look at and one of my favourites!!
Grows pretty quickly but sometimes the new growth is small, try giving it more sun. The plant does look cuter on Instagram tbh. But maybe my conditions aren’t super ideal for it. Still like it tho.
I love my string of hearts, keep in mind that they have short roots, so they do not like deep pots. Give them a lot of sunlight and they’ll reward you with long trailing leaves. ❤️
Given as a 5 inch cutting from my sister and in under 2 years it has grown over 5f feet! They are so delicate looking but can take a lot of neglect! Perfect for any beginner!
This guy grows so fast and I love how long his stems are getting! I will soon be trying to propagate him to make him more full! Great hanging plant!
Totally killed this plant before i knew how to take care of it but then managed to bring it back from the dead. Love the little heart leaves:
It’s very satisfying to watch grow! Daily progress especially if it’s sunny out, you can’t go wrong! Good licking killing this bad boy
So cute! Tiny heart leaves that grow in couplets and tiny purple flowers bloom when the plant is happy
Grows super quick and you can make it fuller by adding your propagations back to the mother plant
How to care for String of Hearts
String of Hearts needs 0.5 cups of water every 12 when it doesn’t get direct sunlight and is potted in a 5" pot.
Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.
String of Hearts may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of String of Hearts in your home 🏡.
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your String of Hearts after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.
