Finding light for Dracaena Spikes in your home
Spike Plant can tolerate being far from a window and light source.
Place it less than 6 feet from a south-facing window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Spike Plant in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Spike Plant
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Spike Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Help me with my Dracaena Lisa The newer leaves at the top have developed brown/yellow spots on them. Any ideas what this can be? Val was so healthy before 🥲 I’ve had her for over a year and a half and it’s the first time I’m seeing this. #Dracaena

I don't get why it is in this state. #Dracaena the largest stem is covering a small east facing window, and seems to be dowing well. But the middle stamp is fully deceased. And the smallest stem looks to be struggling a lot. Soil is not too damp and if I'm honest I most often forget the plant. The plant lives in our stairwell leading to the attic. Temperature could be shifting somewhat due to its proximity to the front door but I reckon it's not all that drastically that it will course this kind of problems.

Why are the leaves turning yellow/gold color? #Dracaena

Does anyone do combo plantings with your houseplants? I just added some pothos starts to this dracaena. Thought process being similar water and light needs, and to fill the gap between the pot and foliage. I'd love to see ones you've done for inspiration. #happyplants #greggang #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy #dracaena #pothospack #pothos #brunchataudreys

Pruning advice Hello everyone. I’m slowly learning about plant care and could use some advice on pruning my Dracaena. I’ve had this plant for 4 years now (it was 5 years old when i got it), and it’s become quite tall and leggy. I realize I’m a quite late in pruning, but better late than never! I have few questions which youtube and google results didn’t help me much. I appreciate if you can share your knowledge and experience. Here are my main questions: 1. Propagation: I’m considering pruning from the top (you can see in the photos above), but the stems are quite thick. Has anyone successfully propagated mature Dracaena stems of this size? Will these thicker stems root well, or should I approach it differently? 2. New Growth on Woody Stems: The lower part of the main stem has turned brown and woody over time. If I prune the top, is there a chance for new leaves to sprout from this older, woody section? Or is this part past the point of producing new growth? Thanks so much for any help you can provide! #dracaena
