About Philodendron 'Silver Cloud'

How to fertilize Philodendron 'Silver Cloud'

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Does anyone know why my Phildendron Silver Cloud won’t grow more than 2-3 leaves? I’ve had it since April 2021 and it’s never had more than 3 leaves at a time?¿

I finally gave my Silver Cloud a coco pole to grow up, with a new leave slowly on the way… how do I train it to grow around the pole?

Is this variegation? Hi Greggers! What do we think. This is the newest leaf and I got a unusual surprise when I had a closer look. Is my philodendron silver cloud variegated (looking at the lighter green sections and not referring to the sliver) or am I just seeing things? #AskGreg #HappyPlants #Philodendron #PhiloFlock #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PLANTMAFIA #NewGrowth #PlantShelfie #Greggers #SpringIntoSummer #fallintowinter #FreshLeafFriday

sphagnum moss as a philo substrate I have a philodendron silver sword water propagation and a philodendron mccolley’s finale that is planted in water, and was in such state when I got it. I want to plant these both in some sort of substrate, and was led onto the idea of sphagnum moss when I saw some of the more “rare” philos planted into straight sphagnum moss at a nursery a few days ago. Granted, those philos were quite small, and I suppose they could have just been planted in there to root and/or continue rooting, so that leads me to think maybe such a substrate wouldn’t work for fully rooted medium sized plants. So I guess my question is, would this substrate work and be successful for my philos? Or would an airy soil mix, the same I have all my other philos in, work better? Essentially I am just nervous about transferring these two from water to a potted substrate, so I don’t want to mess it up. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Philodendron

Just got my variegated philo domesticum in the mail from my favorite seller. Perfect example for me to brag on this seller - the parcel service abused this box to hell and back - it was flipped upside down, despite the “this side up” stickers and had several solid dents in the box. Honestly doesn’t matter with this packing ♥️ #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #Philodendron Seller’s ETSY: https://

PLANT MAIL!!! I ordered from a couple of different Etsy shops and I was pretty shocked at the difference! @GaryPoopins Thank you for the plant exchange recommendation, you were absolutely on point with that shop! They packaged amazingly, the plants were so healthy upon arrival even though the heat packs lost their heat, and the plants are better than the pictures! I will absolutely be a repeat customer! I ordered the Thai Sunrise Philodendron from them, as well as the baby Thai Constellation monstera (which was even cuter in person than the stock photo!) The soil is even high quality! From a separate shop, I ordered a Strawberry Shake Philodendron and a Variegated Philodendron Domesticum. The plants weren’t packaged as nicely. I ordered 2 heat packs and it arrived with 1 heat pack just thrown in the box, and there was little paper shavings EVERYWHERE as insulation. While it’s nice they insulated, there’s cleaner ways of doing so. The strawberry shake was in a pot that was 4 sizes too big so I repotted immediately and it was riddled with root rot. Luckily it didn’t have too many roots so I was able to (hopefully) fix that issue. The domesticum’s main stem was turning brown because they watered the plant, and then placed a wet paper towel over the soil and it was touching against the stem. They then duct taped the papertowel to the soil. So, I think the moisture from the paper towel might have almost been detrimental to the plant. All in all, they’re all very healthy plants and I’m thrilled!! But I think the plant exchange has won my exclusive business for plants! I was very impressed by everything about them from their price to their packaging to their quality of plants! #Philodendron #philodendronstrawberryshake #Monstera #ThaiConstellationMonstera #PlantAddict #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantMail #PlantTherapy #variegatedplants

Plant ID! This plant was listed as a White Knight Philodendron but to me, it looks like a Tricolor. I bought it anyways, but I was looking for some input! 👀 #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Philodendron #PhilodendronWhiteKnight #variegatedplants #VariegatedPhilodendron

☀️ Sunlight Needs

🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity

💨 Humidity
Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' prefers dry environments. Providing extra humidity or misting your plant allows water to linger on leaves, which can create the perfect environment for harmful types of fungi.
🪴 Soil
Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' should be repotted after it doubles in size or once a year, whichever comes first. Fresh potting soil has all the nutrients your plant needs, so as long as it’s refreshed yearly, you shouldn’t need to use fertilizer. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
❄️ Dormancy
Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' does not have a typical pattern of dormancy. If you notice their growth slowing down substantially, double check that they are getting enough sunlight and water to thrive!
🌎 Native Region
Philodendron 'Silver Cloud' is native to Central, South America, and the Caribbean.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
