Two different sorts of bugs, on two plants, this week :/ My Prayer Plant wasn’t looking great and repotted it to, Leca. To try to help it. I noticed later, it had black little bugs on it- they had also transferred to a Lilly. - I sprayed with diluted Neem Oil. My Never Never Plant hasn’t been looking great at times, and today I noticed that there are yellow bugs, crawling around in the Leca, in the bottom of the terracotta pot: this plant is in a plastic pot with soil but, sits on a bed of Leca in a terracotta pot. Suggestions and help, please?

I cannot believe how many new leaves Quill has given me since I moved him under a grow light and near a north facing window. I found his happy spot, FOR SURE! Just take a look at his newest HUGE leaf! My hand for scale. 🌿 #neverneverctenanthe #neverneverplant #ctenanthe #newleafalert #newgrowth #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #jesssjungle #theamigos

I fear for the worst 💔 My beloved is still struggling. I took a risk and changed her soil, I added more sand into the mixture of a fresh bag of premium potting mix for better drainage. She isn’t dying but she’s sad. The leaves towards the bottom of the plant are limp and the smaller ones even closer to the soil are 100% dying. There is still a lot of yellow/brownish spots on most of the foliage. And her beautiful purple backsides are variegated. I had 2 new growths, one didn’t make it. I think there’s more to it than light and water because I am following the schedule and checking her moisture levels with a digital meter. Can someone please advise if these spots look like a type of fungus or other pest? I also saw this bug (pictured) dead on one of her leaves but I can’t see any more of them. #NeverNeverCtenanthe #help #advice #PestsAndPlants #pestID #PestControl

HOLY SHITAKE MUSHROOMS!! You guys!! You guys!! I went to give Tiger Lily, my Never Never Ctenanthe, a touch more water and snip a couple of crinkled leaves from within her towering canopy, and with the help of the great light in my bathroom and the large vanity mirror, I discovered that she’s f-ing BLOOMING!! I’m just floored. I didn’t even know this variety of prayer plant did that! But it IS, and under MY care, which is just shocking to be perfectly honest! Man, what a way to kick off a Sunday morning… 🙏🏻🪴🌼👏🏻🥹 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PrayerPlant #Ctenanthe #FloweringPlants #RareBeauty #NeverNeverCtenanthe #NeverNever #HappyDance #NewGrowth

Hi, guys, I was wondering what it could be in my ctenanthe setosa, I bought a ctenanthe setosa, and I noticed they have something sticky, like sugar grains under their leaves, but I don't see any signs of mealybugs or any signs or any other bug.

What other plant parents say
I took this leaf from my parents plant I’ve had it sitting for 2 months it wasn’t dying but it wasn’t growing either so I let it be and 2 days ago a new little leaf has sprung just in time for spring! So excited to watch this little guy grow beautifully and bushy like my parents ctenanthe!
It gets indirect sunlight all day and water every 10 days it’s actually in a pot without drainage so I’ve been pretty accurate with the watering! I’ve also got a mini humidifier next to it which I put on for a few hours everyday
It’s the Diva of plants. It’s a beautiful plant and rewards those who take care of it like a child. Very sensitive to what is is the water you provide. Best to use distilled water, does not like cold drafts or AC. Loves humidity. Tough to find the right balance of water. No direct sunlight or else the color and lines fade. Can get brown burn spots if non water liquids like soap from washing hands or hairspray lands on the leaves. I had to move it from my bathroom to my officr because it was just too close to the sino and the AC vent was intense. It’s definitely not a beginner plan- lesson learned for me, a newbie.
