About Hoya crassipetiolata
With over 500 species and even more cultivars, there's a Hoya out there for everyone! They're native to Southeast Asia and their common name, waxplant, refers to their thick, waxy leaves which help them retain water in the heat. They're excellent climbers and will take off if you give them a trellis to grow on. Their other-worldly, star-shaped flowers are often fragrant and come in brilliant shades of red, pink, yellow, and more!

Finding light for Hoya crassipetiolata in your home
Hoya crassipetiolata may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Hoya crassipetiolata in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Hoya crassipetiolata
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Hoya crassipetiolata after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

New Hoya Plant Mom #Hoya I got him from a plant nursery that shipped out from California. I waited the 2 weeks before repotting into a terracotta pot…but on the 28th, this is what it looked like before repotting. Did I wait too long? Or is it still adjusting to the new environment? My great-grandmother had one that lived 60 years and I wanted to follow in her footsteps with this plant baby…any kind advice is appreciated… 🥺

Krimson Princess Hoya problem #Hoya I noticed that a few of the lower leaves have been falling off..yellowish with brown areas that are translucent. Some leaves on the plant have a tan colored scarring look to them. I always let the soil dry out before watering. I have it in a terracotta pot and am using a sansi grow light. Thanks for any advice.

Got some little #wishlistplant from #plantproper! I had to take advantage of that Labor Day sale! Got a Philo Ring of Fire, a Paraiso Verde, a gorgeous Hoya Burtoniae, and a variegated Syngonium 😍 all for less than $35! And since #BennyTheTreeFrog is asleep right now, here is his friend #BonnieTheTreeFrog who I discovered this week lives in the begonias on my deck! She also has a tiny baby that is smaller than a US quarter (I can’t think of anything universally descriptive because I’m still half asleep). I will post baby frog pics in the comments 🐸 Anyway so excited to get these beauties for such a steal! Going to pot up the #Hoya today, but I need to get it a nice trellis ♥️🪴📦 #PlantMail #PlantHaul #PlantAddict #Philodendron #PhiloFlock #HoyaHangout #Syngonium #SyngoniumSquad #AlboVariegata #VariegationAppreciation #PlantProperFanClub #PetsOfGreg #PetsAndPlants #babevila

What does this spot mean? I noticed this leaf yellowing a week or so ago & added a touch of fertilizer to the water (I've been trying to give all of my plants 1/2 strength fertilizer when watering but don't always have time to mix a batch - too many plants, lol). During the summer I've also been experimenting with the amount of direct sunlight it gets. Today I find this yellow spot with a burgundy outline. Thoughts as to what it is? Do I just need to be more consistent with gentle fertilizing? TIA, #gregfam! #hoya #help #plantproblems #greggerssupportinggreggers #helpmenotkillit

Holla to my Hoya Healers Just wondering if anyone has seen this before…if anyone can provide insight to what’s happened and why. What I’m doing incorrectly…what I need to adjust. Some info about her…she is in a wall mounted planter in my sunroom. Three out of the four walls in my sunroom are south and south west facing windows. I also have 8 different grow lights in my sunroom and two humidifiers that run 24/7. I have her in well draining soil and allow her to dry out completely in between waterings… Let me know if there is any other info that would be important in figuring out what’s happening. I tried to remember everything, but ya never know… #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PlantCorner #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #Hoya #HoyaHangout #HoyaHeads
