About Arrowhead Plant

Syngonium podophyllum is a popular, easy-to-care-for houseplant with beautiful arrowhead shaped leaves. You’ll often see these plants grown in their juvenile stage, but given something to climb on and abundant sunlight you may see them mature into their adult stage! The leaf shape changes as they mature and may even appear to split into three individual leaves. In the wild they can climb up to 65 feet tall. Be sure to handle them with care, as their sap contains oxalic acid which can be very irritating to the skin and eyes. 👀

Probably one of the easiest plants. Needs a good amount of light and will reach towards the light so remembering to turn this one so it doesn’t become lopsided is key!

LOVE THIS PLANT!! I keep mine about 10 feet from my window, and it still thrives! The coloring is beautiful, and it has been growing so quickly, even in winter. If you need a low light plant that still looks beautiful, get an arrowhead!

I see so many people having great success with these plants but I can’t figure out why my leaves are browning so easily. I keep trying to save it but can’t figure out what’s going on.

Such an easy to care for, non-finicky plant. It’s doubled in size in just a few months and keeps putting out new leaves. Water when soil is dry or leaves get droopy and give it good bright indirect light and it should stay happy!

Took my struggling guy out of his pot (roots were saturated) and put him in a well-draining corner of the yard in partial-shade where he gets watered daily from the sprinkler….he LOVES it there. Looks better than ever! I think he just wants me to know he is better on his own.

I’ve had no issues at all. Very easy plant I’m actually growing in water. I fertilize once in a while with a diluted fish fertilizer and replenish the water level once a month. I think I’ll be looking for some more Syngoniums in the near future.
