About alocasia ninja
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

Finding light for alocasia ninja in your home
alocasia ninja may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of alocasia ninja in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize alocasia ninja
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your alocasia ninja after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My monstrosity of an Alocasia Ninja decided to push the most humongous leaf. First picture is one of the oldest leaf for reference. Second is the cutest tiny leaf that opened last week. Third is the MOTHER OF ALL LEAVES. It’s making it look absolutely hilarious but I’m glad to know she is enjoying the grow lights and green house🥰 I know it is not #FreshLeafFriday but I had to. #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia

"People are strange, when you're a stranger, Faces look ugly, when you're alone." The Strangettes are two corms that I am growing in sphagnum moss. They came from my Alocasia Ninja, The Veiled Stranger. I can't believe how STUNNING this new baby leaf is! And the other corm is just behind with its first unfurling leaf! #corms #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #alocasianinja #happyplants #propagation #propagationstation #sphagnummoss #babyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #newgrowth #planttherapy #plantlove #theamigos #jesssjungle

When repotting my #AlocasiaNinja I found two corms! I had never even seen corms, let alone have grown anything from them, so I headed to Google to research! After finding that you must peel off the brown outer shell and make sure they're facing the right way, I read to put them in sphagnum moss and keep them humid and moist until you have two leaves. Then you can transplant them in soil. So now they have sprouted and I'm waiting for the leaves to come. So excited!! 😊 #propagationstation #propagation #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #corms #babyplants #theamigos #jesssjungle #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy

My #alocasianinja is my new love affair. I named him "The Veiled Stranger." I put him in a self-watering system with LECA at the bottom of a glass vase. He is loving it so far and has seemed not to mind the repot at all. 😊 🖤 @TheOddAsity thank you for the self-watering vase idea, it seems like it's going to go over well!! 😁 #plantspotlight #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #selfwateringplanter #leca #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #newplants #jesssjungle #theamigos

I believe this is either an #alocasianinja OR an #alocasiablackvelvet but I'm not sure which? I got him at Walmart and he is very healthy!! So many leaves, it's insane! It's surprising how very sturdy and thick the leaves are. Oh, and any tips on alocasias are appreciated-- I am pretty new to them! AND I forgot to add is he variegated because of the white one this one leaf?! 🤔 #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #happyplants #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy #newplants #plantid #theamigos #jesssjungle
