Taffi Variegated Rubber Tree 0.5ft to light West 2.5" pot Drainage Plastic Regular Indoor View @filligreen's Oasis #Ficus Discussion Last night something happened and long story short I have an issue. My rubber tree plant got knocked over. It was in a plastic pot so luckily I was able to repot it right away. It has some broken leaves that are now gone. It was just repotted a month or so ago so I was really hoping this tragedy isnβt going to stress it out too much. Giving it lots of outdoor love today while the suns is out. Any suggestions to help it through tragedy close to being repotted? The story of the Lobotomy Clan. π± I was thinking to myself last night some folks would love some context and back story to this silly name I gave my plant, letβs have a giggle, So here we go! π€£ The once was a very sad purple heart plant on Facebook market place, I went to her rescue as I felt called to her. At my arrival her Mother this nice Russian lady with a gorgeous accent passed me over soon to be, the greatest plant I own. On our drive home I inspected the poor plant as her leaves were all dying and her soil was dense and soaked. I knew she would be a root rott survivor I would not let her down. Once we arrived to my laboratory (AKA my bathroom) I inspected the soil and with great dread I did confirm the awful plague of Root rott. BUT before I could pull out my tools and assess the best treatment, the purple heart plant fell to the ground from the counter(To her almost demise). Her already broken and dead leaves and stems turned into shambles into seconds. At that moment I realized that our usual treatment of simply washing the root and pulling out any rott and singing to her and rocking her to sleep before I replant her would simply not be enough. I rested the purple heart plant and I put her under sleep to start surgery. (AKA I turned off the lights so she could fall asleep) I proceeded with a full blown Lobotomy, every single stem needed to go, with the little Roots that were saved it could not possibly thrive trying to fix the mess it was in. When Lobotomy Awoke from surgery she was feeling a lot better, her story is to be remembered. Life did not want me to save this plant but we did not give up on her treatment. Lobotomy the great has now inspired the birth of Lobotomy the II AND her younger Brother Lobotomy the III. Unfortunately the Lobotomyβs II & III are still recovering from treatment, and will update the once we see some new growth. As they are figs they will take more time to recover post surgery. Moral of the story, even if the plant has root rot and flew off your counter and broke to pieces if theres green thereβs always something to save! We can hope π€£π₯² Also life is short, donβt forget to laugh itβs good for you and your plants will love it to! π±πͺ΄π PS: OG picture of Lobotomy the Great post surgery! #lobotomythegreatupdates #lobotomyclan #lobotomythegreat #purpleheartplant #lobotomyII #lobotomyIII #louisxvioasis Not really growing the best, any recommendations?
