Ello! How are y'all dealing with dormancy if you are in the 5B growing area for the US? This'll be my first year overwintering my Venus fly traps & other carnivorous plants. It gets below freezing here in the winter for extended periods of time. Just look at these robust beauties that I have now!! #cpclubthursday Flower Power ! So I’m the first to admit these photos are too late for #cpclubthursday ;which remarkably just gained it’s 200th member) and #FreshLeafFriday #FreshFeaturedFriday however I wanted to show how this Venus Fly Trap starts out as a single “flower” and then produces about 6 new flowers as it grows! I realize many of my Northern Hemisphere VFT fans are starting to see the signs of dormancy (see dormancy from last Thursday’s #cpclubthursday post) so I thought I’d share this VFT coming out of dormancy as we head into a warm spring here on the other side of the world. Guys i feel like my VFT soil is getting more moist but i feel like he is being over watered and the water in the cup hasn’t gone down that much and its loosing soil when in the water

Hello again I just got my Venus fly trap yesterday and winter is coming here in the east coast so I don’t know how much water I should give it and I don’t know when to feed my trap because he is just a baby

Again I don’t know when to fertilize it because my fertilizer says 1-2 times a month before watering but the app says every 26 weeks

My VFT has made quite a comeback from when I got her. I know I’ve posted about this before but I’m proud how much she’s grown and thrived since then. She was in a little plastic box for who knows how long and was half dead. I couldn’t resist. Since then she’s grown around 10 new traps in 3 - 4 months. #cpclubthursday #VenusFlyTrap Wanted to give you all an update since I asked about my little guy Jerry. I repotted him in the correct carnivorous plant soil, and he has been THRIVING. I’m so pleased 🥹 look at all these new baby heads!! And if you look reallyyyyy closely at the 5-6 o’clock position, there’s a little green dot which is a teeny tiny head from a teeny tiny rhizome i found in the original plant and repotted and thought was for sure gonna die, but he is resilient!
