Lol First cucumber from my Early Fortune plant—a little wonky on the shape, but hoping they’ll straighten out when I can get a trellis and not just have to MacGyver with sticks and ties…come on, pay day (teacher salary pay once a month is rough lol). And first little stalk harvest from my hyssop plant, Ezov. I use the dried leaves in the soaps and candles I make for my Etsy shop, as hyssop is great for healing bruises, cuts, burns, helps with dry skin and eczema and rashes. And I use the flowers in some of my tea blends that I make, great for sore throats, coughs, indigestion and upset tummy. Transplanted my outdoor babies yesterday, hoping for good results! I put the cart in the only part of the yard that does get full sun 🌞 Also I can’t wait for my Monstera Swiss Cheese and 3 pack of succulents from the Greg shop to arrive soon! Yesterday I was able to volunteer at their Soil Fest and it was so much fun! I might’ve gone a little overboard buying some new plant babies 😬🫣 But I’m just saying they’re my belated birthday present to myself (4/16) 😂 I also got a free shirt, bandana on proper composting, free food and compost, and help some people in urban food deserts with access to fresh produce and gardening education, so it was a big win! 😄 I got some replacements that I had in my outdoor garden at my last house—white hyssop, rosemary, early fortune cucumber, Moskvich tomato, yarrow, and white sage. And I also got some new babies to try—Greek mountain tea mint, rose mint, 4 o’clock fairy trumpets, German chamomile, and lemon catnip. I use several of the herbs in the soaps and candles I make and it is one reason why I really missed having my outdoor garden, to be able to use herbs grown in my own garden, buuuttt my yard is not ideal and is why I held off after moving 3 years ago—it’s mostly a muddy hill and not a ton of sun. So I’m hoping I can find some cheap ways to make some raised containers for them to put around the side of the yard until I can move when my lease is up at the end of September and hopefully have a better outdoor space for them. Since my last update on my peas many things have changed. First of all; the ones that are staying inside are fast growers, two days ago, right before my daily watering I noticed a root coming out of the pot, I was so stressed that I didn't take the time to take a picture I had to change their pot NOW 🚨 (at least in my mind). Since I'm a beginner I always miss something when the time for that something comes, so I had to go to get a new planter and soil. Now the inside pots are a planter (1st picture), it takes its daily drink as the others and goes outside during the day (back inside for the night). On the other hand, the 2 pots at the half shady/sunny spot are growing too (2nd picture), much slower than the other from inside but still. So since they can see the light I switched their positions with 2 other pots from the full sun area. Nothing happened with the full sun position ones (3rd picture), still not growing, so yesterday I took two out of the four pots to put it inside (4th picture) since it seems to work better. Only 4 days after planting, I'm very happy, I water them thoroughly everyday. I think the ones that are outside will take more time to grow since the temperature is constantly changing. In the pot I did a lay of rocks, then of sand and finally soil, I put my seeds in there, I planted 4 per pot, and covered them with soil. As it is my first time, I did the same thing in 8 pots in total. I watered them thoroughly before putting the dome, and placed them at different spots; outside full sun, outside half sun and shade, and inside my "nursery" near a south window.
