First plant convention of the year! A tad small IMO in comparison to last year's one, but i still came home with some great stuff! The first thing i bought is this cute little Spathiphyllum. Not your regular PL btw. This is Spathiphyllum ivanportillae, which is a relatively new species from Ecuador. It's small and uniquely black, i love it. I don't care if i paid $35 for a PL. It's a special PL. The Spathiphyllum actually came with a stowaway vanilla orchid cutting. I've always wanted one but never wanted to pay for one [like what, ten bucks? Lol], so I'll gladly take it. Next is this Anthurium. It's a hoffmannii x forgetii 'Variegated'. I know it says variegated. But as we can see, variegation doesn't always translate in genetics. Still really pretty and a good size too for $15. Then this one is a personal guilty pleasure, but i still love it. The most expensive plant i've bought so far [$65], a Philodendron billietiae x mayoi! Gotta love the variegated hybrid philos, they're gorgeous 😍. And finally i brought back two more hoyas! For only $10! A bella 'Luis Bois' [inner variegated too i think] and a lacunosa! The lacunosa currently has a bloom, but i can barely detect a scent, so we'll see. Hello #GregFam, haven't updated things on my side for a while. Just some quick plant updates! Hoya 'Rebecca', my first ever Hoya is doing marvellous! Exploded with new growth and another round of blooms, plus more peduncs on their way! This is a massive new leaf on a Philo 'Paraiso Verde'. Just so you know, this baby is not on a pole, plus it gets afternoon AND evening sun on sunny days. Mother Nepenthes x 'Gaya' with new pitchers as the old ones fade. There's something lovely about new pitchers. Just bought these two #highly #variegatedplants #PinkPrincessPhilodendron, the last one I bought almost reverted but with some tlc… we’re slowly getting variegation back. I’m going to pot them together with a #WhitePrincessPhilodendron and a #coirpole 🤍 love love love them

#NewPlants! Every quarter-year, the local garden authorities hold a small event that essentially acts as a convention. Great for local nurseries and hobbyists alike. This is what i got for the last event of the year! Philodendron gloriosum 'Leopard', $8. Like a regular gloriosum but spotted! Hoya 'Rebecca', $10. My first PROPER Hoya! Flowers smell lovely, like jasmine. Monstera 'Silver Star', $15 [negotiated $14 coz i was a dollar short XP] Itty bitty baby, i actually went in and told myself, NO MONSTERAS XD. But i couldn't resist this little fella, according to seller it's essentially a more stable 'White Monster' [basically, instead of the variegation fading as the leaf ages like in 'White Monster', 'Silver Star' retains the minty variegation. It differs from 'Full Mint' by the greenish center]. Vanda [Neofinetia] falcata, $30. This was my most expensive buy tday [most of my buys max out at $30 lol], i was torn between this and a nice specimen of Phalaenopsis equestris. But i've wanted to try my hand at a Neofinetia since forever so here we are. No means any of the fancy japanese varieties, but for 4 fans and a few blooms i think it's worth it. Three Drosera, 3 for $10 Sundew sale! 3 Droseras for $10. There were only three species available for sale anyways. The rest were VFTs and an unidentified ping. My princess getting the princess treatment this morning In her spa 🤗🛁🫧 I cannot believe how long, bushy & healthy she is! My boyfriend got this for me about two or three years ago on my first birthday we shared together. It’s a very special plant to me! She was so small when I first got her compared to now. I have struggled with strings & have had lots of ups & downs with them when it comes to caring for them & keeping them alive, but this baby has always been forgiving with me & has given me grace. 🫶🏻 & for that I thank her & treat her extra special & extra care to be fragile with her & her delicate long tendrils.. 🥹 I only bottom water her, and I keep her outside until winter in my screened in porch. I have her in a shallow teracotta pot for good drainage. I love her one all white tendril she has, it’s so cool to me. I finally got one of my wish list plants today, Euphorbia Lactea or its common name ‘Ghost Cactus’. I’ve been wanting one for so long! They usually are pretty expensive so that’s why I hadn’t gotten one yet. Online & at local nurseries they go for about 50$ or so. But I found this one at Home Depot for 20$ & it came with a pot! I felt like that was a pretty good steal, & there was only one so it was coming home with me! I went for perlite, & this Home Depot was out too! #succulentsaturday 🌿 I cut some of my flowers off my Echeveria Blue Sky, & used this vase my grandma gave me to put them in. *tip*- don’t use water if you want to cut them to display them, it will rot them & won’t last. They have lasted about a month or a little less, since I’ve cut them and had them inside. That’s a long time for cut flowers if you ask me. Also wanted to brag on my VSOH, it’s so long & is doing so good! My boyfriend got me this for my first birthday we had together, so it’s a special plant! It even had a little string of all white hearts (photo 4) which is super cool. #ThornyThursday 😉 my mom gave me a crown of thorns… when adding it to my oasis, so many different kinds of Crown of Thorns came up… & mine didn’t come with a sprecific name, so I’m not sure if it’s the right ID (Crown Of Thorns ‘Bicolor’). (Photo 4) Anyways I repotted her, & hopefully she will like it outside… I’m wondering if it is similar to my African Milk Bush, & will prefer morning sun, & afternoon shade. I noticed my AMB (African milk bush) started yellowing leaves if left in full sun all day, like my other succulents. It seems to prefer morning sun, with afternoon shade during the hotter hours of the day. This is my first crown of thorns, so idk if they will be similar in that way, but any care advice would be greatly appreciated! I also wanted to share some #BloomingCactus / #BloomingSuccs My Varigated Melon cactus, (Photos 1-3) has the teensiest CUTEST FLOWERR ever starting to form… I know she is small, you may even have to squint to be able to tell it’s a flower… but it is! I’m so happy, this is one of favorite plants/cactus. I haven’t had her very long either, I’m telling you guys the fertilizer I use for my #Succulents has been impressing me this year! So many new blooms on varieties that haven’t bloomed for me before, & it’s usually after repotting with new soil with added in slow release granular succulent fertilizer. I get it from Home Depot & it truly does work for a great price & the bottle will last you a while, depending on how often you repot & the size of the planter.
