Removed most of his foliage and about ⅔ to ¾ of his root system as well as giving him a slightly larger pot... So let me introduce you to my newest arrangement! ✨The container is about 6" measured diagonally, and about 2" deep. (It's an old deli meat container! #PlantingOnABudget🤘) I've only put in about 1.25" of soil. ✨ I'm running pretty low on soil around here so this is mostly just a super random mix from my leftover pile where I discard the excess soil after I pot something. (It's fully sanitized and it's not reused, I just tend to mix more than I need.) The best I can tell you is that it's a mix of Miracle-Gro "cactus citrus and palm" soil, regular Miracle-Gro potting soil, and lots of perlite. There may also be a bit of pumice in there but probably not much. It also has cinnamon in it to fight any potential fungus and such. I honestly don't know how much of anything is in there tho. 🤷 ✨ This arrangement is a combo of lots of things cuz honestly the plant room is running out of space so on top of chopping and propping I also combined a few older props. We have quite a few members of the #TinyTerracottaGang in here. 3 "Harbour Lights" Jade #CrassulaOvata, 5 ghost plants (idk what variety they are), a piece of my lovely pink #JellyBeans plant and several lil beans, a #GollumJade, and a few #SOP strings. (Click that hashtag if you want more info on this experiment.🫶) I had this guy growing in plain filtered water with only a bit of fertilizer added... He grew up nice and handsome but lately his roots have been looking a bit rough so today I moved him to some sterilized soil. I'm not feeling very well today, so I won't go into too much detail like I usually do on these updates. Just wanted to share what he looks like in his big boy pot. (: Oh and if anyone was wondering what happens when you pinch off the new growth instead of cutting the whole top off, the answer is not much. (First pic.) Lol he never branched out, he just kept growing straight up. Oh well, hell get a haircut come spring and hopefully that'll do the trick...
