My girl @SunflowerSunset snagged me this beautiful Aglaonema Pink Emerald, my amazing, kind, thoughtful coworkers gave me this absolutely gorgeous Philodendron Red Anderson for Bossesā Day, and I found a variegated umbrella tree (my mom has always had one, so Iāve been wanting one for sentimental reasons), and I also scored a very cheap inch plant and Tea Anemone Hoya! $5 each for those two! And, my momās friend gave me two cuttings from her Hawaiian Pothos, along with a rooted neon pothos that Iām going to add to my existing one to give it some volume. I fell asleep right after dinner last night but still had 3 plants outside that needed to come in before it got to cold. I woke up at 11 in a panicš±š±š±! But my body said woah!!!! You arent doing anything until i wake up tooš! As much as i wanted to run straight out and get them it just wasnt happening without a few drinks of coffee and a few stretches and pops! Long story short it was only 59 degrees at that point so everyone got in safe and soundš¤. But roght now its 47 so good thing i woke up when i didš. Mine is actually rare, it has green variegation a bit on the leaves! Itās a pretty slow grower, but little by little, itās pushing out leaves, but itās just so easy to grow! If you donāt give them water that is chlorine free and filter with plant product, youāll be in for brown leaves, and slow growth. Additionally if you donāt give them sun thatās brighter than the sun itself then you are in for NO GROWTH. Peace Lilly sound peaceful but are NOT. NOT ANYTHING BUT THAT. You have to STAY UP AT NIGHT for it to be semi happy. But this one has a code that I have not cracked yet. I know @SleekLatetulip has a BEAUTIFUL PEACE LILLY. Itās just a code to crack and even for āPrO hOuSpLaNtErSā they are still trouble. Monsteras are a walking fave and game show to see how perfect you can water them. Again, love these plants, brothers to my all time favorites PHILODENDRON. And we will catch up on them later, but I have lost 2 which is way to many leaves on my beloved cloudy. Itās a 50/50 between over and underwatering. Itās just another code to crack. Pepperomia or as I call them pepperoni plants are such divas. See those yellow leaves? Thatās them. It also comes with an invitation of pests! They just love dropping leaves so much. Not getting one again. Now onto āthe best newbie houseplantsā The zz plant is famous for a reason, having those gorgeous stems that shoot up and up, and they can go ANYWHERE. The one dark corner of your room that needs a little pop, ZZ IT UP! Your desk, ZZ IT UP! Bathroom? ZZ IT UP! These plants have one flaw which is they are very tall. But thatās fine! We love huge growth here! Next is the pothos, like Hoyas but want them easy and aggressively grow? Theres your boy! Grows literally on WALLS. Climbing plant level 1000. Best one yet and never gives me problems except most are variegated. And mine just is like. Yeah Iām next to the sun but I wish I was INSIDE the sun. Itās ridiculous how much sun they need to varigate. And then thereās those leafs literally in the DARKNESS and they find a way to varigate like what do you want? Philodendron are just that one plant that is just so hardy. If you try to kill it it will miraculously come back. Wow and so many different kinds, personally I love all, but for beginners id bet that the brasil is the easiest. No trouble variegating, just stick it somewhere and watch it grow. Priscilla (fourth picture) had grown a pup a couple months ago, since then it has gotten really big! Same for my Silver Snake Plant, itās kind hard to see the pup on that one (photo 3) but itās there & has also grown a lot since my last update on it. I kinda want to separate them & make new plants out of them, but Iām kinda nervous about it &, I also like the more full look it gives the plant. ā¢ I also wanted to share my Satin Pothos, she has really taken off since repotting her, & giving her a trellis to climb on, & adding a water globe for more even/consistent watering. I fill up the water globe every two days or so, & it has really made a big difference, I also moved her outdoors (on my screened in porch) in the beginning of spring, for the first time since getting her. She is just so full & pretty ! We love huge growth here! Next is the pothos, like Hoyas but want them easy and aggressively grow? Theres your boy! Grows literally on WALLS. Climbing plant level 1000. Best one yet and never gives me problems except most are variegated. And mine just is like. Yeah Iām next to the sun but I wish I was INSIDE the sun. Itās ridiculous how much sun they need to varigate. And then thereās those leafs literally in the DARKNESS and they find a way to varigate like what do you want? Philodendron are just that one plant that is just so hardy. If you try to kill it it will miraculously come back. Wow and so many different kinds, personally I love all, but for beginners id bet that the brasil is the easiest. No trouble variegating, just stick it somewhere and watch it grow. And speaking of hardy philos, Silvia has been realived! If thatās a word and now it is. I just propped her and one month later she is here! Priscilla (fourth picture) had grown a pup a couple months ago, since then it has gotten really big! Same for my Silver Snake Plant, itās kind hard to see the pup on that one (photo 3) but itās there & has also grown a lot since my last update on it. I kinda want to separate them & make new plants out of them, but Iām kinda nervous about it &, I also like the more full look it gives the plant. ā¢ I also wanted to share my Satin Pothos, she has really taken off since repotting her, & giving her a trellis to climb on, & adding a water globe for more even/consistent watering. I fill up the water globe every two days or so, & it has really made a big difference, I also moved her outdoors (on my screened in porch) in the beginning of spring, for the first time since getting her. She is just so full & pretty !
