🌿 Surprise Repotting Day! 🌿 I decided to repot my sundew today, expecting to work with a single plant… but guess what? There were eight thriving little Drosera hidden in the soil! 😲✨ Nature never ceases to amaze me—what started as one has multiplied into a whole community of carnivorous beauties. Over the Thanksgiving holiday I went to California to visit family. I live in Arizona which is a very different climate however I was able to find 2 adorable plants that I think will do well at home. 2 different versions of peperomia- fuzzy felt and a variegated version. Both are so pretty. I got them from a very cool plant shop that is also a cafe. A week ago, a mysterious box shows up in my mailbox—no sender info, just a cute mug with a smiling leaf! Obviously, I assume my plant-obsessed friend sent it, so I text her a long thank-you. No reply—so I think, case closed. Today, she swings by with Halloween treats and says, “Cute mug! But it’s not from me.” Now I’m baffled. Who else would feed my plant addiction when everyone else is tired of it? We talked about a lot of subjects and of course plants and Greg. I promised to send her the link for a free 3-month trial, too. Finally, I open my Greg app to semd the link, and bam! The leaf on the mug is Greg’s logo! Mystery solved! Have I reached a new level of “plantsanity” even by our standards? 🤔 So, I just repotted two wee babes that I would be particularly devastated to lose - they are temperamental as it is, and were just repotted recently - but the pots they were in just weren’t working out, and I feel like it was riskier to leave them in there vs uprooting them (literally) to get them back into better draining containers. Where the questionable sanity comes in, is the fact that I was literally serenading them with Stay by Shakespeare’s Sister (remember that relic? …Alexa helped with accompaniment). It just felt like the right vibe to convey how intensely sorry I was to be doing it and how much I wanted them to be forgiving lol. I literally don't do anything special to care for her. She loves it in my bedroom, close to a South facing window, and under a grow light. I'm in North Louisiana so I do have to water her a little more due to climate. Such a sweet baby! Someone please lie to me and tell me it won’t actually frost tonight and my plants won’t die. 🫠😵‍💫 I brought any tropical in that I would be devastated to lose - but all the biggies, the cacti, and a several others are still out there. The pics of the sun porch are how many I had before I started moving some inside. 🙃 I was NOT prepared this year.
