I haven't purchased any plants most of the winter! So when I went to Walmart today and saw their new shipment of plants, I HAD to get these babies!!!! A Painted Lady Philodendron, a Rex Begonia, a "Santa's Sleigh" Aloe, and a "Sidewinder" Aloe!! I’m new to (sphagnum) moss poles but have recently set up 4 for some of my easy growers. Soooo… I didn’t stay home and rest and try to recover from last night’s migraine. Instead I met DD1 and my granddaughter at PetSmart, bought #PipSqueakTheIntrepid new cat food (already switching to adult because lil miss has become rather portly since her spay surgery last month), and then we skipped on down to Home Depot. I was hoping ours might’ve gotten some of those Thai Cons that @Kapuac lucked out on getting yesterday at hers. Instead I found literal shelves of houseplants drowning. Not even kidding. Water was pooling on top of soil because the pots were full of water. I was so disgusted. Thus I rescued a handful and hopefully they weren’t too far gone that they succumb during their adjustment period in their new safe haven. I mean there’s one little Hoya that I was legit squeezing water out of when I got home; now it’s out of its grow pot and getting some air while resting on paper towels on my kitchen counter. And oh, the ZZ plant… I probably poured 3/4 cup of water out of its cache pot right there in the store. 🤞🏻 Hope they all make it. I also grabbed a rose bush while there (👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻), and then a short while later we went to Trader Joe’s (*happy sigh* man, I love TJ’s) and I found myself a flippin’ RED orchid!! I have wanted a red orchid for YEARS, and there it was—just one, as if it was waiting for me. Bonus: it was only ten bucks. #josebuono was tipping over. He had two long roots sneaking out of the bottom and I rearranged them in a slightly deeper pot. He had a fight with by robot vaccuum that decided to push him over and he wasn’t thrilled. It was like watching some kind of surreal gladiator movie. Now he’s in a heavy clay pot with rocks in it to stabilize him ship Bobby (the robot vac) decides to approach. I know he won’t be I that liner pot size much longer but his clay pot is larger and he will grow into it. This is my Red Heart Philodendron! ❤️ I have had her for probably 5 months and I still haven't named her!! 😲 So I need your help, #greggers! What should I name this gal? Her leaves come in bright red, like you see, and shift to a daarrrk green as they age. Surprise #PlantHaul! Excuse the bathroom pics 😂 best light in the house right now!
