Holy roots, girl! She got a bigger pot, saved the roots (cut the smaller pot off) and 6 new starts in water. This one definitely reminded me why I typically avoid climbing on the macrame...crazy tangles!! #philodendron #philodendronmicans #happyplants #rootporn #plantaddict

#fungalinfection and #seasonalshock unalived my all but 15 #plants in my garden 😭 BUT You can’t keep an aspiring green thumb down 👍🏾🪴Ok! Period so I’m back in full effect!! This year I’m probably not going to go dum overboard in the doubles and number of plants total. I don’t want to exceed 50, but I’m already about to hit 35…soooo we’ll see 😅 What I do know is I’ll be paying ridiculously close attention to the health of my #plantbabies. I have had a rough week. Was in VA during the hurricane, and my 20 yo sons house flooded and he lost everything. I just got home yesterday, and 2 of my more rare plants died (through no fault of my husband). I just bought this beautiful girl last week and I am so in love! She is stunning and her leaves feel like velvet. She’s still acclimating to her new home. Any suggestions on the type of soil to put her in when she’s ready? I’ve been repotting a lot of my plants in Molly’s Aroid mix and so far they’re all doing good. After struggling for almost a year (!!!) with this little guy. From water propagating it from a single node cutting, to finally putting it in soil only to have it absolutely STOP growing… I finally put it in a smaller pot with chunkier medium (no other philo I have has ever been this particular), the leaf that had been furled for months finally opened and a new one is coming in! Found *the* perfect pot for Belinda, my #philodendronmicans! I noticed recently that I like footed pots - they add an easy and understated elegance to trailing plants. This is literally a footed pot that I couldn't stop laughing at so of course I had to get one. So much for being an adult 🤪 Also I'm really loving how gorgeous Belinda is looking - those leaves have a velvety sheen that's absolutely *chef kiss* perfect.
