Well well well. More #rustfungus content for yall here :,) I’m deeper within the trenches I fear. But it will be okay. We will fix this. We will hope. We will care take. We will spray and cull affected leaves. We will repot again soon. I’m thinking of going straight perlite until this clears. Any thoughts? OH I believe both my pothos have Southern aerial blight.. I’m so scared! I read this article https:// from University Florida on pothos diseases and found the Southern aerial blight piece to be very informative (but not at all hopeful, the treatment is to throw away the affected plants). I know my philo silversword has it (that’s who brought it 😌🥹). Plus I think my poor golden too. This is in addition to the scale, mealy bugs, spider mites (credit to the new calathea :,) & more. So I’m thinking of ditching soil and going to perlite (and LECA likely for the sturdier or healthier plants). Aside from that I’m at a loss for treatment and control. I believe everyone has a little bit of everything (aside from my new Monstera Deliciousa cuttings). I’m trying not to overdo treatment at this point too! I’ve done apple cider vinegar vinegar which worked but the rust came back on a new leaf for the Thai Con today. The beloved spider plant Walt was so poorly with the rust I had too cull 75% :,). Frangipane the Brazilian had a hair cut, isopropyl alcohol treatment, then neem oil once it dried, finally the pest & fungicide spray. I have just noticed the fungus spread to my snake plant to top it off!! I need a professional 🤩😳🫡 #PestControl #FungusControl #helpneeded

Dealing with persistent infestations such as fungus or spider mites? Continue reading for tricks to get your plant friends out of quarantine! (Ps. I've only been a #plantaddict for roughly two seasons, so I may get things wrong.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Step 1: Although this is a simple step, I'm mentioning it anyway for those who are new to infestations. Use insectidal soap on your plant for pests, but you can try using neem oil for fungus. Do this for a few days or weeks. Apply it once every week for small, weaker infestations, but once every 2 or 3 days for more resistant infestations. (Skip this step if you already have been doing so.) If the problem persists, read step 2 - step 7. You'll need: • A container (make sure it either allows the root ball/entire plant to fit inside) • Hydrogen peroxide • Water • New soil • New pot (optional, you'll only need it if your plant needs a repot anyway) Step 2: Take your plant out of its pot. Try to loosen the root ball. Dump all of the old soil out. You won't want to use this again. Step 3: After doing so, put some hydrogen peroxide in your container. You don't need a lot. You can use enough to cover the bottom or a little more. Step 4: Add some water, enough so that the container is at least half-full. So far, I have used well water for this, but distilled is best if you can. Make sure there is more water than hydrogen peroxide. Step 5: Dunk your plant inside the mixture. If your plant is dealing with something that stays within the soil, such as fungus, dunk only the root ball in. Wait for at least most of the bubbles to come out, then take it out. If your plant is dealing with something that goes along most of or the entire plant, such as spider mites, dunk the entire plant in. You can wait for most of the bubbles to come out of the root ball, then take it out. Step 6: Take your pot (it can be new or previously used) and put your plant in it, and give it fresh, new soil. Make any adjustments if needed. Step 7: Place the plant back. You can either place it in a room quarantined from other plants to check its results, or you can place it back in its ideal spot (but keep an eye on it if there are other plants nearby). Quarantine it again if any signs of pests occur. So far, I have used this for Biophilia, my monstera deliciosa. Check the top comment for more about her. Any questions or mistakes I made? I'm open. I'll update this post as needed. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers #pestcontrol
