Update on the Thrips Apocalypse. We are about 3 days away from hitting the one month mark for the second wave of the thrips apocalypse. I want to give feed back on the nematodes. I have to say they must be extremely effective because I haven’t seen a single sign of new damage on any leaves and I haven’t seen any live adults or larva in two weeks. I have been cleaning my plant every 3 days and all of them with the exception of a few have been bagged for high humidity. First two weeks was completly bagged sealed and I have now moved to poking air holes for ventilation. I have barely watered the plants during time time I’ve been misting the soil on top to keep nematodes moist and effective. Once nematodes have no more food they slowly die off so I just reapplied yesterday on all my bigger plants. I will say having green houses and bagging plants individually might not be the esthetic we hope for but I only have another 30 days to go and it’s been extremely helpful to prevent spread or reinfection to other plants. At the end of the next 30 days I will be receiving greenlace wing larva ( EWWWWW I KNOW BUT HEAR ME OUT ), and releasing them inside my greenhouses. These would never be able to grow into adults and die off once they don’t have anymore food source as well, it’s going to be a one time application at the end of there 30 days to ensure I or the nematodes haven’t missed a thing. POSSIBLY PREVENTATIVE IM JUST REALLY GROSSED OUT BY BUGS. 😭 I continue to deep clean my house on a daily basis. I also have nematode traps. I made small soil pots with no plants but nematodes mixed in so if anything is missed outside the green houses they might travel upon my trap and be eaten by nematodes. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. #louisxvioasis #thrips #thripsapocolyspe #nematodes

I want to know why no one on Greg is talking about this!!!!! In June I lost most my plants to thrips and again they came back in July, after losing hope and advice online just not helping I went to a local plant shop and the owner saved me. She explained to me what nematodes are, and how this is the final step I’m missing to kill the life cycle. In Canada we cannot use systemic and just using topical sprays for cleaning the leaves and neem doesn’t cut it. Nematodes are like small worms I guess you could compare them too, microscopic, and they eat gnat larva and thrips larva mealy bugs. But they treat your soil, what ever larva is crawling or living in the soil, they also will eat eggs. They are natural and are safe for pets and humans and for indoor and outdoor use. I will forever be using these as a preventative and I’m convince it’s the reason im actually seeing results this time around. #nematodes #nematodesforeveryone If you are in a battle with pest you cannot seem too fight and you’re either not wanting to use chemicals or are unable to get them in your country these little friends are the invisibleinvisile soldiers you need to win the fight, and MAKE NEMATODES A REGULAR TREATMENT also to prevent future infestations! Hope this can help someone somewhere ! EDIT: please note you cannot use pesticides these are living organisms it’ll kill them, to use insecticidal soap is okay but cover your soil when you do and make sure to wipe off dry when done! DO NOT USE NEEM OIL WITH THEM any neem in your soil will make them unable to do their job properly or kill them. Continue to treat the foliage of infected plants even when using nematodes until you are 100% sure you are in the clear just be carefull how you do soo!
