🌱 one day makes a big difference for plants, it does for me too 🌱 In the spirit of my post the other day, I’m gonna share something else in my life. Recently, I’ve started a new course of therapy, and it’s long overdue I’ll put it that way. The NHS is a beautiful, but massively distressed system. Anyway, in this process, a therapist I was working with came to the conclusion I might be autistic, and it was light a light came on in my life that just felt right. Like the perfect lamp in the corner of a room that was once pitch black and hard to navigate. I just assumed everyone was the way I am. There are parts of me that seem to make tangible sense now, and that’s been an overwhelming yet good experience. Plants are not my only obsession, but it explains the feeling I must know as much as I can about them, what makes them happy, what makes them shine like Oscar has recently. I feel accomplished in this obsession, and it’s nice to feel that way about something in my small world. #Nallon #PlantPhotoClub #Blooming #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

So someone’s flowered..! The stem(?) branch(?) tendril(?!?) is about 5.5 ft long now, to the point it trails on the floor..!! There’s a few buds on the lower half of said length, and well, what a beauty! Thanks for all your love and support on my last post. The world keeps moving and I’m left behind, sometimes my plants are the biggest reminder of that, especially when my agoraphobia is at it’s worst. They grow even when I can’t, and when I feel low it’s hard to not to be slightly envious. One day I might find roots again but for now I’m just lost. #PlantPhotoClub #Nallon

🥫🚨 This is a #TeamCan announcement 🚨🥫 You all know I am an avid spider plant lover and well, it seems to be paying off 🥹 From my research, spider plants can produce babies after about 1 year of maturity, and flowers after 3 - so imagine my surprise when this babe I potted last July is pushing out FLOWERS?! 🌸 Here’s what I’ve noticed about having spiders in cans rather than in pots: 🌱🥫 The size and shape of the tin cans are perfect for ready to pot baby spiders. The cans are 2 - 3 inches across, but about 4-8 inches down. A snug pot around the roots gives the tightness they need for producing babies, but there’s depth for the plant to grow down and strengthen itself 🌱🥫 The can itself is definitely doing something for these guys - the metal leeching nutrients in to the soil is doing good. No other spider plant I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot over the years) has EVER done as well as these guys have. The rate of growth is really quite remarkable. I am an avid terracotta pot person, and the only reason #TeamCan even started was because I didn’t have pots small enough for the spider babies I was given and now look!! 🌱🥫 To make sure everything’s okay, I just spin the pots once every few weeks to check for any rust or problems - and I’ve not had a bother at all since potting them all last July/August time. Especially the cans designed to hold liquids - old tins of tomatoes cans, the Diet Coke can etc all seem to be holding up really really well These two photos were taken just today, one this morning and one this afternoon, I can’t quite believe it really 🥹 Wash out those old tins and hammer some holes in the bottom for any spider plants you ever have. Honestly don’t know how to get more of y’all on this train, it’s changed my spider plant game forever - what other plants do we have in Team Can these days?! Show me them please!! 📿🪆💎 Other than plants, my favourite thing in the world is The Muppets 🎭 The sheer joy I get from watching old episodes of The Muppet Show and the films that Jim Henson and crew created is unmatched (nearly the whole back catalogue is on Disney+ now, you’re welcome). So, when Lego announced their mini figures of The Muppets, I knew I needed them for my plants. I actually asked for them for my 25th birthday earlier this month 😆 I’ve got all 12 of the gang, so they’re now gonna be in my plant pots for the foreseeable! I know flowers take about 3 years of growing to produce, so this guy is a new baby spider! For the first time in probably 3 years, I’m doing some veg outside! I haven’t got actual beds at this house, so I’m having to improvise! 🌱🥕🥗 Plastic pots for peas, and a rectangular metal planter (so technically #TeamCan ) with roughly mixed rocket and lettuce seeds. I’ve got another rectangle for some pepper seeds I’m trying to germinate as I type! 🫑 We had a fence panel come down, so we’ve broken it apart and my plan is to make more planters with it… if anyone has advice for such a venture please let me know..!! 🛠🔨 Some potential #GregFeedback here, I’d love to be able to add the dimensions of rectangular pots! This is about 10cm across but about 25/30 wide! 📏 I’d also love to be able to put what kind of soil combination I have, most of my pots are combinations of the soil types so I never quite know what to put #OutdoorGrowing #Seedlings #Nallon #WishMeLuck #VeggieLove #VegVentures
