the monstera albo cutting I picked up two months ago is about to unfurl its first new leaf. a little nervous bc it's so white but I do see green in the stems. the cutting was a total impulse buy, and I am glad I lost my mind for a minute that day. #Monstera #MonsteraAlbo #FreshLeafFriday #kevinkiklee #NewGrowth

someone gifted me a painted lady cutting, and there were 2 plant shops on the way to pick it up. of course, I ended up picking up more plants. recently got some wide moss poles that I've been wanting to try out. hope the philedendrons enjoy the climb. #kevinkiklee #Philodendron #Begonia

Planted some cuttings I had been rooting in water, and just like that, I have 8 more plants now. Also, experimenting with planting 3 cuttings each into soil, sphagnum moss, and perlite+vermiculite mix to see which one roots faster. #kevinkiklee

I learned about VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) this morning, which helps you calculate the ideal temperature and humidity for your plants. From what I've learned so far, too low/high VPD affects transpiration where excess water is evaporated from the leaves. Low humidity and high temperature mean the plant cannot draw in water fast enough, and too high humidity basically ends up drowning the plant bc the stomata closes. (Someone please correct me if I've misunderstood anything). My Ikea cabinet was at 80+ degrees with 90%+ humidity which is not ideal at all. I am in the process of removing weatherstripping little by little until I reach about mid-70s in humidity. #kevinkiklee #TipsandTricks
