My lil spider babies are growing up 🥰 I’m getting them ready to be a Christmas present for a friend who swears she can’t keep a plant alive. It took a long time to scrub all the soil off the roots, but this guy is now semi-hydroponic! I threaded a thick cotton string through a plastic orchid pot and filled it with Leca. So all she’ll have to do is keep water in the bottom reservoir, which is an old vase I thrifted. And she’ll also have to keep the cats away, as you can see 😂 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #PetsAndPlants #Hydroponics #DIYPlanter

I’m thinking of transferring my propagations from just water to perlite.. should I fertilize? This would be my first time ever trying this I just feel like in water they’re not reaching their full potential. I’m sorry I don’t remember the names of the plants in the the pictures at this time but in 15 minutes I might but no guarantee! I just had to show them off. My next post is over an article I just finished reading about things that are out of date and need to be removed from inside the house. I hope you read it and get as good a laugh as I did.

Happy Tuesday to everyone in the Greggerverse! I’ve got looots of plant chores scheduled for today (with all kinds of fun stuff — time to experiment with LECA!! Gonna try my Milk Confetti I got last year from the Greg Store first ‘cause it’s a drama queen if I miss watering by even just a day), but I’m behind on reading posts and stuff, too. The Hubster took a mini staycation last week and only went back to work today, so I have a lot of catching up to do. That said, while getting prepped for today’s festivities and downing some fuel, I just wanted to shoot out a quick post to say thank you to @TheConservator for giving DD2 and me a shoutout on #TheThread last week (quality time with one of my girls, and ofc, WILLIE!! WoOt!!), and also to Drew @RJG) for featuring Herman Monstera’s badass new leaf on this past #FreshLeafFriday (it’s not hardened off yet, but it’s getting HUGE)! Herman (nor any of my other plants) have ever been featured before and it was actually really kind of an awesome feeling to have my fave plant recognized in such a way, especially since we live in a part of the world where it’s a struggle to get the humidity level in the house up to even just 30%. I mean, just to have a large tropical plant like Herman be able to attain such growth in my care at all is short of miraculous. In my opinion anyway. And last but not least, a big thanks to all of you that commented and offered congrats and whatnot on all of these posts and pictures! You guys, one and all, make this app such a fun and amazing community that I’m proud to be a part of! A special shoutout to some of my peeps on #TheThread, who, even when life is hurling lemons, always manage to be positive and chipper, and make the best damned social media lemonade around! The time has finally come to pot up my #PileaPeperomioides ! I put him in aqua soil from an old fish tank I used to have. I put it in a small dish of water to keep it hydrated and I’m gonna slowly ween him off the water over time. It’s been a big journey to get to this point.
