Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread Rise and shine sleepy heads, its time to make #TheThread. Its an early Thursday morning in kansasland where its still 80 degrees and 90% humidity it feels like😤 Ive barely done anything this week tbh, but im still so ready for the weekend😩. I actually did water quite a few things yesterday afternoon but i never got them back into their spots. They are all still just hanging out in the kitchen on drip trays until i get home🤷‍♂️. Its LVP day at work so fun fun! Really it shouldnt be that bad, this is an easy floor plan and its kind of small. Anyone have an exciting plans going on today? I gave yesterdays thread a good BOTTOM watering to see what great photos woukd float to the top. After a 5 minute soak these were the ones that almost jumped out of the pot! I felt i needed some inspiration this morning. So for our first photo ive shared this simple old saying we all need to hear sometimes🙌! YOU ONLY FAIL IF YOU STOP TRYING. And its the truth! Our second pic was shared by @CourtlyKingfern of her hoya kerri putting out a brand new vine😱. Its gotta be feeling the love she gives all nestled into that PERFECT pot with the reminder "IM A SUCCA FOR YOU"🥰! Did someone say PLANT MAIL🤗! I think @Ms.Persnickety did when she received this stunning🤩 ponytail palm in the mail. This is about the only palm i can keep alive. And its a good thing cause its probably my fave indoor palm. Judging by the look of her other amazing plants it will fit right in at her jungle oasis. Our 4th beautiful photo was grown by @MusicalRedmint mom and delivered with love a couple days ago. She says the scent is so strong and mesmerizing it needs bottled up as and expensive perfume🤤😍. Not to mention that amazing peachy pink coloring shimmering in the light. And for our last photo of the day, we see this deep green billitea pushing out anew leaf on its bright orange petiole @SunSoilLove home. The form and coloring of this philo are just showstoppers 😎 i think! Well thats the end of the show! And the bottom of my cup of coffee😤. Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread It humpday and we made it to the top of the hill! Its all downhill from here🙌. I spent pretty much all day in my chair yesterday after i got off work. I was beat and i just wanted to try to do nothing and see if it helped..... (NOT really🤷‍♂️😂) but it was worth a try. I did scrap togethor a little sleep last night. Not sure really how much or if any of it was good sleep. It was pretty much wake up or get up every hour or so. I need to clear this brain blur out before i can tell if it helped my sleep deprivation or not? Obviously no plant news here since i havent really done anything in a couple days. It looks like you all have made up for my plant procrastination judging by all the excellent photos yesterday. Ive hand selected 5 premium pics for your breakfast🤤 that are sure to satisfy and taste great🙌. @JenniferNoel shared our first photo from her vacation at her uncles house. The simplistic beauty of this texas star hibiscus is just amazing. That super hot pink bordering on red, just explodes out of the plant canopy like a shooting star in the night sky. Our second pic came to use from @RealSimpleMama urban jungle where shes growing all kinds of superb plants. Some of which are these beautiful little nepnthes🥰 juveniles starting to get more mature pitchers. She says shes needing to repot soon cause the pitchers are starting to drag the ground😱! Shes leaning towards hanging baskets over standard pots. Which i agree, i love the way nepenthesxlook hanging up gentky swinging in the wind. The sound of the pitchers clanking up against each other is like a bamboo wind chime i think😎. Ourc3 rd pic is this perfectly variegated ficus shiverina that @Araceae is growing. As you can see its pushing out another leaf to add to its splendor. Its so pretty it may blind you if you stare to long🫣. The pink tip of that new growth just compounds its perfection! @Prentyce shared this update to her dragon scale sport for our 4th photo, showing ITS new leaf emeging👍. Shes been nursing this little plant for awhile now, and its finally paying off! I dont know about you guys, but i just love the look and feel of those thick leathery leaves. Those shades of dark green with a hint of silver running through it just adds so much appeal to any plant corner. Our final photo came to #TheThread by way of @AGfox shared this little mango tree shes been growing from a seed a friend gave her. It looks like its doing amazing to me! And that burgandy red😍 well thats just some bonus eye candy while she waits for some yummy fruits to start forming. That brings us to the end of my rambling for the day 🤷‍♂️🙌. Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread How was everyones Monday? Hopefully not to💩💩💩! Mine was ok but it was a hot one in kansasland yesterday. I cleaned up the climatarium and did some orchid and heliamophora repots when i got home. My TJs oncidiums had already been repotted 1x but i got new pots for them! Plus i was taking them out of the climatarium so wanted something a little nicer lookingvthan clear orchid pots. The heliamophora/ sun pitchers were still in the pots i received them in a year ago😱! Thats ok though they had tons of room for growth when i got them and i new they were in a quality media so i just left them alone until now. Todays going to be a fun day, it was a sleepless night.... obviously by the time im posting🤷‍♂️😂. I laid down at 9 tossed until 11, got up an hour and laid back down for 30 minutes with no luck! So i guess its 2 am posts and watering😤 and LOTS OF COFFEE! It was a REALLY! Slow picture day on mondays thread😢. But i found a few GREAT pics to highlight and slow days give me the chance to post some of my repots🤗! Our first stunning photo was shared by @SunSoilLove. She planted some hostas in her yard last year and her hard work and loving care have PAID OFF🙌! This heavenly white hosta flower has blessed her yard with its elegant draping blooms set atop a slender spike slowly dancing in the breeze. Picture 2 is a perfect little krimson queen hoya that @SweetAzurebluet was so proud to share🤗! And who wouldnt be😍? Those glossy green and white leaves are like a pot of DIAMONDS and EMERALDS glistening in the light🤩! Pic3 is an update to @SwiftWolfsbane alocasia frydek vg she got recently. Its pushing out a new perfectly camouflaged leaf ALREADY! Can you see it🤔🤷‍♂️? No really its there! Its just hiding in that magical variegation!... jk jk it is a stunning specimen though! Cant wait to see it all grown up. And for the final 2 spots you get my repot filler pics😤. But hey they are really cool😎 pots i think! That brings us to the end of the tuesday plant parade. Hi friends, I was asked about the Plant Guru secret propagation formula for Hoyas, thought it was worth making a post for those who missed the comment on my last post! So here it is, ☕️🐸💅🏻 Plant Guru said, moisture levels are key.🔑 To much moss will retain to much moisture and will lead to, fungal infections to the cutting or bacterial infections or rott of the moss itself or of the cutting. I put a picture to show you my mix ratio, and keep in mind the perlite likes to fall to the bottom so you might not see as much of what actually there. I did 2/4 Husk, 1/4 moss 1/4 perlite. ****The coco Husk, needs to be soaked for minimum 24 hours and the bowl must be emptied and the husk properly rinsed. Then you repeat every few hours with hot water, not boiling so you can break apart the husk without burning yourself. The salt and tannins aren’t good for Hoya if you skip this step it’s game over.*** When soaking your moss take ALL THE WATER OUT , as much as you can it’s best to hydrate again with a spray bottle than have sopping wet moss! Okay so once the mix is ready you can place you cuttings in a plastic cup or a pot with drainage wholes and pot to cover it, the point is you want humidity to create itself with little water to keep the cutting hydrated. I also love the clear containers I posted a picture of it’s easy to spray the bottom of the moss without having to empty everything out! I would fill them up and place them into another cup example will be posted. Wrap the cup to make sure you keep the moisture in, keep in mind certain Hoyas will not like the leaves to be inside the cup, my Mathilda doesn’t mind the high humidity but a Hoya like a Krimson Queen or a Hoya Lisa would get Edema from the humidity over time if you don’t air them out enough. Now when I spray my cutting the first day I only spray them down a little I watch how much humidity produces itself within 24hours!!! Also that’s the key you don’t want to disturb them to much but you do need to air them out every 48 hours or so to let oxygen move around and , poke gently at the mixture to lets air in and prevent any rott, fungus or bacterial infections. I will sniff all of them to make sure no funkiness is happinening lol. 🤣 And voila, the secret formula is yours! The one thing I cannot explain though is the right humidity level, we all live in different climates and environments , some people will need more water/spraying of the mixture to keep it moist, some will need to air it out more often to help monitor the moisture! ohh last thing! Why all 3 , why not just husk or just moss or just perlite, well the moss has nutrients the husk doesn’t have, the husk retains moisture without having to worry about rott as much as moss, and the perlite is always your best friend to air everything out! They work as the dream team, without the moss the cutting doesn’t have the nutrient it needs to grows its best! Without the husk the moss would Rott , and I would eat perlite if I could I put it everything! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but for real perlite is essential to keep the moss and husk aired out! That’s Hoya obovata out here being the main character. 🌿 Secret #1: The peduncle (that’s the flower stick, y’all) is reusable. That’s right—don’t snip it! This diva blooms on the same spot over and over like it’s got a favorite runway. 🌿 Secret #2: The blooms smell sweet AF—think chocolatey vanilla with a twist of garden fairy. But only at night, ‘cause she’s mysterious like that. 🌿 Secret #3: Obovata stores water in her thick juicy leaves, so if you overwater, she will hold a grudge and drop leaves in protest. 🌿 Bonus Gossip: That splash on the leaves? My mom's hoya has been flowering like crazy. She just had her 7 blooms, and now it's gonna happen again? Girlie i just bought some soil, i wanted to freshen you up, and youre doing this to me? No but seriously, im pretty sure she was never repotted since mom received her as a cutting from my grandma. Pretty sure she could be considered half hydro and maybe rootbound to hell, i haven't checked on the roots like that, i don't know how she is doing this honestly. But as soon as she loses the last flower, im doing maintenance. #HoyaCarnosa #Hoya

Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread Its an early Saturday morning here in Kansasland. That cold front made it here last night so its a freezing 69 degrees out this morning with a slight breeze. But the humidity is still so high it feels like 80 lol. Its still only suppose to get up to 89 today though so thats a plus🤷‍♂️. I need to do a mix of watering, potting, and cleaning house today. I really need to just dedicate a weekend to a whole house deep clean, but i dont see that happening for awhile. And oh well i guess! My dog doesnt seam to mind the dust😂. I may try to force myself to trash a few random props ive had for awhile. Theyre mostly succulents that just havent really ever taken off and im tired of looking at them😤. Oh and this porch😱 it definately gets a straightening up today! Its piled with potting stuff like medias buckets and pots that need a good cleaning..... just another thing on my honey do list to myself! CLEAN POTS!!!🤷‍♂️😂 oh well thats enough about my overgrown need to do list. Whats my fellow GREGGERS up to this weekend? I hope its sonething you enjoy and feeds your soul🙏. There were just to many great photos for me to decide this morning😍. So i loaded em all up and crammed them into the pictotron2000 for analysis📷📺🎛️. After multiple computations it factored in the weekend gradiant and decided these 5 pictures would givevthe optimum growth for a saturday morning🙌! Who doesnt need a little inspiration every now and again? I know i sure do! So for our first pic i thought id remind us all that positive thought creates positive outcome👍. This tricolor carnosa she caring for is just loaded up with ready to POP peduncs. Its all patience and constant checking to see👀 if MAYBE🤔 just maybe🤷‍♂️ theyve opened yet? Good luck and cant wait to see them in their full glory. And fpr our last pic of the day😤. We have this stunning alocasia frydek vg that @SunSoilLove found a few weeks ago at her local grocery store. Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread Woohoo its FRIYAY🙌! Just 1 more day of work and its the WEEKEND! I actually didnt have to work today, but im going to anyway. I was given the option to start today or monday so ill prob make it a short day and get it delivered and prep done. Ive been trying to not stress over undone plant stuff and just enjoy them more. The amount of plants has kind of gotten overwhelming if im constantly thinking about what needs potted next or fertilized next or watered next! Ive been trying to focus more just on what needs watered, instead of what needs done! If im constantly thinking what needs done? Well then IM NEVER DONE! Ive seriuosly been thinking about getting rid of all my run of the mill trops. If it can be bought at any store any day of the week, it may need to just go! 🤷‍♂️😂 Tbh usually when i start feeling this way plants start dieing anyway lol. The oh well plants just dont get the care they need usually at this point. Guess its been BINGE for long enough and it may be time to PURGE! Ive combed through yesterdays thread to find us 5 photos to highlight for this WOOHOO FRIYAY! @SweetAzurebluet furnished us with this update pic of her SEXY😍 banana tree. She obviuosly loves and cares for this beauty with its crimson red stalk and HUGE lush green leaves! It seams like everytime she shares, its grown a foot😱! Pics 2-3 were shared by @PrizedShadscale In pic 2 we see a beautiful trumpet vine growing at her parents house. She said it calls all the POLLINATORS🐝🦋 to the yard for a sweet sip of nectar on hot summer days🥵. And in pic 3 we see an awesome raised bed area that her parents said she could turn into her own outdoor OASIS🥰. I cant wait to see what she comes up with 👍. Our 4 th pic is another update photo. This little snake plant that gave birth to a new pup awhile back @RefinedSandwort office window! She was excited to see the huge growth its added just in the last week! What are you giving that little thing? STEROIDS😱??? Jk jk it looks amazing! And bringing up the rear is PLANT MAIL! @swiftwolfsbane is IMPATIENTLY🤷‍♂️😂 awaiting this epi pinnatum yellow sunrise she ordered this week. Amazing Hoya Several years ago Hoyas got my attention and heart ❤️ I've been adding hoyas to my jungle, over the last four years, two years ago I got this stunning Hoya Sunrise from Plant Proper, this is the year for blooms. Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread WE ARE ALMOST THERE! Its Thursday and just 2 days to go until the weekend. I really didnt do anything yesterday after work again. I watered a couple of plants but thats really about it except sit. Its been a long week already and im definately ready for a couple days off. Its another muggy morning in kansasland but the mosquitos arent out yet so im having my morning coffee out there. Im betting @SunSoilLove is out looking for a hot cup of joe about now since that commie hotel doesnt serve coffee until 6am😤😡. Hope you found a good cup to start your day! It was a double load day of pics on the thread yesterday😱. There were SOOO Many excellent photos! And yes it was HARD to choose 5. I scrolled and 🤔🤔🤔 and scrolled some more but finally just had to close my eyes a pick! Our first photo this morning was shared by @Araceae of this PERFECT🤩 ring of fire philo. Hes thinking of entering this beauty in a plant competition and wants to know what you guys think? Is it good enough? I SAY ITS BETTER THAN GOOD ENOUGH! Its a WINNER🙌! For our second pic we see a mesmerizing field of day lilys with a feisty little hummingbird anxiuosly lapping up nectar from a bird feeder. @Ms.Persnickety said her sister captured this photo while on vacay and she just had to share it. And THANK YOU! We loved the bird pics!our 3rd and 4th pics were part of a semi load of amazing flower pics shared by @MusicalRedmint yesterday😱! There were so many she had to post 3x just to get them all in! Better go check them out if you didnt already! But here are 2 i loved, for you to have with your morning coffee. This multicolored dahlia in photo3 is growing at her moms house. She said her mom grows the most beautiful flowers, and i AGREE!😍. And the the cactis is a mammillaria bocasana (one if my faves) with its super soft hair and that crown if dainty punk flowers its soo cool😎! And our last photo was shared by @JenniferNoel of her purple shamrocks with that perfect purple and bow tie shape leaf its already a must have plant. Happy Hoyas 💕 After surviving the thrips apocalypse I had lost so many plants. A very nice lady I call my Plant Guru , helped repopulate my collection with so many little Hoya cuttings for free, I was finally able to gift her a tiny little crystal tree last weekend to thank her for healing my little heart ahah!🪴🌱 My plant guru also shared her secret formula to propagate Hoyas in moss! I was also able to find these cute little plant pots with drainage pots inside at the thrift store for 1$ each! 💕 Wishing our little friends growth and prosperity! 💪🏻🌱 #louisxvioasis #Hoya #HoyaHeads #HoyaHangout

Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread Its Humpday and im up way to early as usual😤 but atleast it gives me plenty of time for lots of coffee🫩. I already tried to go out to the porch this morning for my first cup but the mosquitos attacked as soon as i sat down😱! So i retreated back to my recliner for this mornings post. AND DAMN IM ITCHY😡🤷‍♂️😂! They got me GOOD! That little rain we had mustve got them worked up cause theyre usually not out this early. I had a pretty easy day at work yesterday and i was home by 1. I didnt do much after i got home though except nap and sit! I thought about repotting my cutlass and squamaferium philo but didnt ever get that far lol. Oh well maybe after work today. Itch itch itch😤 scratch scratch😡! NO REALLY THEY DESTROYED MY ARMS😂! ..... more coffee pause😍..... ok im back with a FULL cup🙌. We had another awesome day of photos plant tips and great convo yesterday! There were a ton of great pics to browse through but i chose these perfect 5 for this mornings line up👍. Our first photo was shared by @PrizedShadscale from her parents yard full of beautiful flowers. Im not sure of what this is? But gregs calling it a red frangipani. Whatever it is, its AMAZING🤩! I just love that leaf pattern and those simple but elegant white and yellow flowers just draw your eyes in and ignite the imagination. @Sassylimey is on PEDUNCLE WATCH😱! She says her hoya sunrise has 9!!! COUNT EM! 9!! Peduncles on it currently and as she IMPATIENTLY 🤷‍♂️😂 waits for them to bloom😍. Maybe if you watch them theyll open faster🤔? Jk jk ! Our 3rd photo just had to be a pet photo with that cute face🥰. This was an accidental share by @SillyPlantGirl of her precious poochie so we didnt get a name for this wonderful girl. But i figured she wouldnt mibd me sharing it! Is it me or is she looking at the camera like " really mom? MORE PICTURES!" 🤷‍♂️😂 you just gotta love DOGS! Photo 4 came to use from @TidyTigerpear plant oasis. This painters pallet anthurium is just a showstopper with those monsterous leaves and bright red flowers😎 (not flowers). You know that beauty gets a prime spot in the windows at her house! And this gourgeous geranium growing @Prentyce house is our last photo for the day. I thought its perfectly HOT pink huge FLOWERS matched her personality so well it had to brighten your day as much as she does! Sadly thats the end of the show😤... BUT THERES MORE COFFEE😍!
