Mystery Succulent ID: Revealed! I got a mystery succulent a little over a year ago, and I've been waffling between it being a Graptoveria 'A Grim One' or an Echeveria 'Moonglow'. I had been leaning towards the Graptoveria, but both varieties look so similar it's hard to tell. Well, the dang thing finally bloomed, and I'm about 95% +- 2 (p < 0.05) sure that my plant is indeed a Graptoveria 'A Grim One'. Succulent update! I've been going through it with my students recently (I teach middle school 🫠), and we're all counting down the days until break. These cooler nights are really making everyone's colors pop! Decided to feature some plants that I don't have listed in Greg. 1) My Echeveria 'Blue Atoll' is 😍😍😍. It's exploded this year and has beautifully filled out her pot. If you look closely you can see pink leaf tips. 2 & 3) Graptoveria 'Opalina' and 'Debbie'. I love how pink these guys get when it's cooler out. 🩷🩷🩷 4) Echeveria 'Elfstone'. Happy #succulentsaturday ! I got to pot a lot of my plants from my order, last night! I’m so happy with them! They all are healthy & beautiful! 1. Ruby necklace, & a new pot that my grandma got for my birthday. It’s so unique! I want to put something in the other holes, but haven’t quite figured out what yet. 2. My hybrid of some sort, not sure what kind yet. 3. Graptoveria Titubans, this was the only single I ordered, (I ordered three mystery sets) and specifically picked this one because I’ve had my eye on it for a while. I can’t wait till the variegation starts showing! 4. New frog friend I found last night, on my lamp, he watched me plant my succulents 😂🐸 pretty sure he is a tree frog, his eyes are super cool. (This isn’t the same frog I posted about a couple days ago, in my succulent arrangement pot, he moved out sadly after two days lol). 5. My boyfriend took me out to a couple plant shops today since he worked on my birthday, and got me a wishlist plant I’ve been looking for. A Moonshine Sansevieria! It also was a great deal since I got it for 10$! It's been a chaotic Tuesday and I'm in need of some relaxation. My Chroma is gonna drive me mad with this flower stalk. The buds are this beautiful neon pink and I really need it to go ahead and bloom. Cannot wait to see what the flowers are gonna look like. The Graptoveria 'Debbie' I chopped and propped this summer is really coming into its own. Cooler nights and full sun have done it a ton of favors. 🩷🩷 Lastly, my Pinwheel is growing the cutest little pup; look at the dainty tips on it! Please ignore the soil, I had just watered it. While I don't have my Melaco listed on Greg, it's colors are worth showing off. Succulent tower update 🪴 -graptopetalum ‘superbum’- slow growing so far, but she has gotten bigger -Echeveria ‘PVN’- growing pretty fast, not showing much purple since I have her in direct sun, but she likes it. She’s grown a lot! -graptoveria ‘Debbie’- my fastest growing plant in the tower right now, I’m thinking about repotting her, she’s gotten much larger then the lil space she has, I would imagine she’s used lots of nutrients too, so it may be time to repot her. I’m gonna leave her for now because she is still growing, but she is one of my faves for sure! -Echeveria ‘Atlantis’- another fast grower, he also requires a bit more water then the other when in direct sun. He has really filled out so nicely! -Echeveria ‘Green Pearl’- he had a rough start after having to remove some leaves due to damage, he is finally starting to get larger & I’ve noticed him growing the past week or so. The leaves are filling out again, & new growth is coming out! Can’t wait till he gets more full and healthy! Update on my order from mountain crest gardens I got a month ago. These are in my tiered planter. I have been mostly keeping them outside since the weather has been nice lately. Mostly full sun, and watering a lot more frequently since they have been in bright direct light most the day. They have definitely grown and changed colors, they are healthy and happy as of right now. 1.Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ 2. Echeveria PVN 3. Graptopetalum ‘Superbum’ 4. Echeveria ‘Atlantis’ 5. Happy Friday #GregGang ☀️🌿 I hope everyone has had a good week! Has the time change made your day go by faster or slower? For me it seems like it’s been going by faster. ⏩ For this #FreshLeafFriday I wanted to post my *almost* finished planter that I got a couple weeks ago. There is one more spot left, which I plan to fill this weekend after a trip to my fave local nursery! I’ve came to a sad conclusion that I no longer will be purchasing plants from my Home Depot because sadly the last several plants I’ve gotten from there, have had some fungal issue that either spreads to my other plants, or kills the plant I purchased. Despite throughly inspecting them when purchasing, there is just some things that the human eye can’t see, or it looks healthy but the disease hasn’t fully set in yet.. Anyways on a better note I’ve got pictures of my finished planter, I will list the plants in order of the tiers starting from bottom up. 📈🌿 •Bottom- Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ , Graptopetalum ‘Super Bum’ & Echeveria PVN 💜 all these are purple toned, although the graptopetalum & PVN aren’t visible in the picture because they are in the back. So I willwil attach photos of them. Happy #WhatTheSuccWednesday guys 🪴🤗☀️ so glad it’s starting to warm up! I’m sure some of you are glad too! Wanted to share some planty updates today. 1. Got my VSOH planted in my new planter, and also got my baby #CalicoHearts planted in as well, it was time for an upsize. 💕 I only have one more spot left for my tiered planter! And then it’ll be all put together and you guys can see the finished product! 2. Clive my sedum clavatum has some blooms forming! It came in the mail with blooms, I’ve been sticking him outside on warm days & watered for the second time today. So glad it’s still thriving so I get so see those pretty flowers! 🌸 3. Okie my baby crowded Haworthia from @Lifeis2short has grown lots since she mailed him to me, but has shot out an extra inch of growth since watering on Monday 😳 4/5. Opal my (injured) graptoveria opalina (my cat was chasing a bug and mauled it about a year ago) has finally recovered & looking healthy and full again. It also likes the new sunny south window it’s been in over the winter. Planted a few of my #Succulents today, I was so excited to finally get get to use my Pixie Planter™️ from Amazon. These two inch plants were a perfect fit for it 🪴 I have one tier left that needs to be filled, I want to use my string of hearts to add a spiller to the planter. It’s so relaxing to pot up your new plants! It’s like my mind finally goes quiet as I focus on getting them all tucked into there new homes. 🤗🪴🌈✨💕🌱 I will show you guys the finished product when it’s done, and stacked up how it should be. New #Succulents for #WhatTheSuccWednesday 🌿🤗 My first time ordering from Mountain Crest Gardens, they are really dry/dehydrated but nothing a good soak can’t fix! I also had a few damaged leaves but that’s okay, considering they were in the mail for a while & it’s nothing too bad.. but as far as ordering plants (succulents) online Planet Desert remains #1 for me! 🌵🫶🏻 1. Sedum Clavatum 🌿 2. Echeveria ‘Green Pearl’ (my favorite in this order so far) 💚 3. Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ (love her colors already) 💜 4. Perle Von Nurnberg (I recently lost mine to powdery mildew 😫) 5. Echeveria ‘Atlantis’ 🌱 6. Graptopetalum ‘Superbum’ (not pictured) will post in comment section. Out of all the plants in the shipment she sadly took the most damage.. PLANT ID HELP! 🌱 • -Got some new plants yesterday! I got three from Home Depot, my boyfriend took me plant shopping yesterday & to the new Casino in Danville NC. It was my first time going to a place like that, I’m not really much for gambling but I did really enjoy the slot machine & overpriced margaritas, lol! 🤭 however I need some help trying to figure out what type of Echeveria/ graptoveria.. or maybe even a pachyveria?? It has a flower so that should make it much easier to indentify.. I haven’t tried myself yet to identify so I’m gonna do some research soon!
