‼️ Attention #DMVGregGang ‼️ A new plant store has opened up in Occoquan (Woodbridge)! And ya girl just got hired to work there! The store is called Leaf & Moss and it's at 312 Commerce St. Hours are 12pm-5pm Wednesday through Sunday. So many beautiful plants and adorable little succulents! They also have random awesome plant-related gifts and accessories. I bought one of my wishlist plants yesterday--Variegated Hoya Rope (look at that pink variegation! 😻), two air plants, and the knitted pot around the Hoya. If you are from the DMV, specifically the Woodbridge area, you know this is something Woodbridge has needed for a long time. I'm so happy Leaf & Moss is here and thankful they have given me a place to work. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the saddest tree outside today! I’m in the DMV so there’s lots of talk about cherry blossoms and magnolias, but this first tree just doesn’t meet the high expectations I had! That escalated quickly... Yesterday I posted I was ok with no new plants after 6 hours of plant chores 😩... But... I am #PlantWeak ! Passed the nursery on the way home from an appointment today, and these babies came home with me. My ONLY self control in a nursery is NOT getting a basket. What a weekend! I got a #cactus garden from Nall's Produce #DMVGregGang) yesterday! I love it so much! 🌵💚 This morning I repotted my Cylinder Snake Plant because it was long overdue. She had thicc juicy roots and the babies were bursting out of the pot! The picture of it in the small blue pot is from the day I got it last year. She and her babies finally have room to breathe! With tomorrow being Valentine's Day (and the fact I have no self control), I bought the last two Valentine's Day succulents at Lidl today! I couldn't help myself. They were in excellent condition, super cute, and had a punny tag. The green bean looking one is new to me. Apparently it's a Pincushion Peperomia (Peperomia Ferreyrae). The other one is some type of Echeveria that Greg is labeling as a "Pearl", but I don't believe it haha. Any succas out there able to ID this specific Echeveria for me? 😅 The last two succulents I previously bought from Lidl didn't do so well, and I had to yeet them unfortunately. Here's hoping these two new ones are survivors! 😄😆 I also added a meme as my last pic. It describes me. I struck gold! 🤩 I'm in a plant exchange group on Facebook for my town and this lady posted a String of Turtles. I mentioned how it was one of my dream plants and she said she would get in touch with me when she's ready to trim it. Well she did the other day! She also offered many other types of cuttings! I am beyond grateful ☺️ She gave me: Marble Queen Pothos, Hoya Bella, Hoya Black Margin, String of Pearls, String of Bananas, and the String of Turtles. I can't wait til I have something to give back to her in return. She was so generous for giving me all these cuttings, and they are beautiful cuttings! This past weekend I went to a video game music festival called Super Magfest Melee at the National Harbor near DC. I couldn't even escape that without a plant! I got this super cute Totoro terrarium filled with Pillow/Pincushion Moss. It was hard to decide because the booth had many different ones filled with many different video game and anime characters, but Totoro was really the one that was speaking to me at the time. Everyone please send my SOP good and healing vibes. 💓 Originally, she was too dry. Then, she was too wet. I finally got her repotted today in a terracotta pot with some new succulent mix, and she already looks a little happier. Her roots looked okay. Run, don't walk, to Target! 🎯🏃‍♀I got these beauties today for only $5 each. They have all different colors, shapes, and sizes. There were a lot of empty shelves, which tells me this is only the beginning of their stock! Looks like they're starting Spring early this year. 😻 I also snagged a six quart bag of Back to the Roots cacti and succulent mix for only $10! Wanted to show off my Alocasia Polly for #FreshLeafFriday! She has already put out two fresh leaves for me and I've only had her three weeks! The poor thing was riding the struggle bus at the plant shop I got her from. You can see in the picture she still has some brown crispness on her leaves. She was so dry when I bought her. I've been nursing her back to health since, even taking the binding off her roots. I'm so proud of her for putting out these two new leaves despite everything, and they're starting to unfurl! 🤩 Since I'm a new Alocasia owner, I'll happily take any tips anyone has about keeping these plants happy and healthy! #NewGrowth #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia #AlocasiaPolly #PLANTMAFIA #DMVGregGang
