Dendrobium

How scorched earth do I need to go on this? I just got two orchids from Kaleialoha Orchid Farm, a Dendrobium Secundum ‘Alba’ and a Maxillaria Rufescens, and they did me dirty 🤢 The dendrobium clearly has some sort of bacterial/fungal spot disease. Nothing is mushy, I’m assuming the environment was overly moist because HI is high humidity and the base of the dendrobium is covered in algae. The maxillaria looks much healthier but also has two spots with yellowing tips and black spots. I can see cuts on the leaves of both plants that I assume were their attempts to cut off spot disease. I applied a plant-based garden spray I’ve used successfully in the past (Mighty Mint Plant Protection) for pests/mold and I have it isolated from my other plants (it’s near my other orchid, but I’m not super attached to it if something happens). Because these plants are already going through a huge environmental shift (two days in a box changing geography to different light, temperature, and humidity) I’m hesitant to shock them any more by cutting off leaves. I’m an experienced orchid owner but have never really had any issue with bacterial disease before. I have done some amount of internet research on it since I received them last night, binge watched MOG videos, etc. Do I need to cut off everything with spot, or can I just treat those areas and rely on it to die off in the lower humidity? Has anyone else successfully combated this before and is there something I should know? #Dendrobium #Maxillaria #DendrobiumSecundum #MaxillariaRufescens #Orchid #SpotDisease
