What a difference a cleaning makes. I finally got around to wiping down my dottie after being inspired by the glorious foliage presented and rightfully awarded by @JesssJungle last week. Afterwards, I added just a tiny bit of DIY leafshine. And just look at the difference! Also, I finally got around to dividing her. As I had suspected, there were two plants in the pot, which created a very crowded look and prevented both plants from sprawling out their leaves comfortably. Now, not only do I have two (clean 😉 ) adult plants, but both of them look so much better. Before, there always seemed something off. #calatheacrew #calatheadottie

Calathea/Maranta/Prayer Plant/Ctenanthe Love Post. ✨ I have 5 of these babies and they never cease to impress me. A Calathea Dottie, Red & Green Prayer Plants, a Cathedral Window, and a Never Never Ctenanthe. How striking their leaf patterning is, their colors, how they MOVE and close up at night. (Pic of my Cathedral Windows in the comments while she's closed-she moves the most out of everyone.) I also love how their new leaves are all rolled up when they emerge. They are just fascinating plants and among my very favorites! I actually have two more not pictured: a Calathea Beauty Star who is in water, and my Rattlesnake Calathea, but they're in different rooms so no recent pics. If I remember I'll snap photos of them too and put them in the comments! I went to my favorite local plant shop, and I saw this dark beauty. I have been wanting a #calatheadottie for some time now and this one blew me away!! So of course I brought her home with me! I love this app but please do a quick google search for the needs of each individual plant 💜 I’ve noticed it wants me to water way before they’re ready. Don’t be afraid to hit that snooze button. Circumstances are different for each home and each plant. But I do love the reminders, especially for homes with multiple plants.
