Time for the children to go out and play! Now that the weather looks like it’s going to be staying in the 60s 70s and 80s. I’ve been loading my greenhouses inside my greenhouse with plants that have so far managed to survive. Leaving pretty much only my newbies inside. MY EXPERIENCE, PLANTING SUCCULENT SEEDS: The guide said to soak the seeds for 24 hours then moisten the soil and place the seeds one by one on top of the soil with a toothpick. Well, in 24 hours the seeds had formed a gooey mucus slime around themselves and a toothpick could not separate one seed from the other. So I rigged a syringe so that I could suck up the glob of seeds with some water surrounding them and spewed the ooze onto the top of the soil. Eventually, the seeds at the bottom of the cup could be sucked up without the goo. So I was able eventually to spread the seeds out a little bit although as you can see, I have way too many seeds in each section. I popped the lid on top of the tray and we’ll wait until tomorrow to see what it all looks like . They say that succulent seeds don’t easily germinate so perhaps I don’t have too many seeds in there. Actually, I know I have way too many seeds in there, but tomorrow when things are not quite so gooey maybe I can pull some of them out. If any of you have any experience in this, let me know where I went wrong. I think I really wasn’t supposed to soak the seeds overnight because some instructions say to soak them some instructions they don’t soak them. Look what I got! You were right it’s a really cool book. Lots of good information. I’m not sure I want to do decorating with succulents, but who knows. I might be taking a pottery class so I could make some terra-cotta pots in the future. Just wanted to share what transpired with the big aloe my Mam gave me yesterday. So i ended up rescuing three additional babies and two more medium plants.. following advice on here i intended on leaving as much as possible alone until spring, but they were all loose and trying to escape or snapped/without a root system. The big pot is still plenty full with the two remaining plants though 😆 Question is, do I leave all the smaller ones alone now and for how long? Also, as you'll see on the last picture, now that I've decluttered the pot you can see that the soil has shrunk and theres a 1inch+ gap between that and the pot 😅 she's just watered it before giving it to me, how do i water going forward? It's probs regular, ancient potting mix and the pot has no drainage holes 😣 Ps. My Mam took one of the spiky babies back from me today to maybe grow for two decades like the mother plant 🌱 #aloe #plantrescue #plantrescueprogress

So my Mam is scaling down her plant collection before she moves.. today she gifted me an aloe shes had for around two decades.. and perhaps ignored half of that time 😅 Planning on separating it out into individual plants and have already removed one that was loose after losing its main root, and two babies that were attempting to escape 😅 but it's going to be a mission, and i don't have amazing track record with aloes.. Pray to the plant gods for me 🙏🏻 #aloe #rescueplants

Finally got my plant room organize for winter 🙌🏻🤩 I’m so happy with how much more room I have & how much better it looks. Although I still need to get a few grow lights, it just ain’t in the budget right now 🤣.. I got the lamp & kitty picture (photo 1) for my birthday on Wednesday from my grandma & I thought they would both look awesome in my plant room. I also have my #NewPlants my mom got me set up on the table with my humidifier since you guys told me Philos & Hoyas like humidity 😏 #PlantCorner Picture two & three are the top of my plant shelf, I have it decorated as of now but that may change if I don’t end up having enough space for my plants 😬 I have my seashells displayed, & other plant related Knick knacks & my mushrooms 🍄 My new mushroom planter is super cute 🥰 a gift from my Boyfriend for my birthday. Photo 4 is over view of my plant corner, with all of my shelves & my storage shelf for my plants tools/fertilizers etc. Lastly I couldn’t finish the post up without a #BloomingSuccs photo. 🤭 Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ is growing a flower I think, yay! It’s put a lot of new growth at the top of the plant since I repotted it into a much bigger pot. I got two new cacti today 🌵 The first one is a Blue Myrtle Cactus, I love how tiny & cute they are. It’s kinda hard to tell the size in the picture but it’s in a 3 inch pot. The second is a Fire Barrel Cactus, I love the magenta spines at the top! As well as the ridges in the cactus, all together is a super visually stimulating plant with its unique textures & colors. 😍 I also potted up all my props that were ready for their own pot! It’s Friday Eve finally 🙂‍↔️ My boyfriend took me to Home Depot to pick up some necessary supplies, I got fertilizer but sadly they were out of perlite … how does a garden store run out of perlite?!😟 Anyways so instead I used that as an excuse to get some plants… he put a limit on my plants so I only got two 😒 lol jk… someone needs to monitor my addiction… I got a Othonna Capensis ‘Ruby Necklace’ & an Aloe ‘Purple Haze’ I redid the big pot yesterday & finished it today with a string of things because I felt like it needed it, & I love the pop of color. It also has Echeverias, (3) and a pachyveria of some sort, in the middle not sure which kind. Got to repot some things today & yesterday, whilst repotting my Aloe ‘Delta Lights’, I dropped it on its head and broke some leaves 😭.. it was so root bound and stuck in the pot, I quite literally had to fight with it for a about ten minutes to get it out the pot it was in.. 😒 when I dropped it upside down… the whole rootball (the dirt) fell apart & the dirt got all over the plant & crevices 😟. All in all it was a STRUGGLE to repot it, but I was able to get it done, lesson learned *don’t let it get so rootbound to where it’s almost impossible to get it out of the pot*… (photo 1) I also repotted my Silver Snake Plant today in my other 20 inch teracotta bowl, (the aloe went in the other one). I wanted to use them for an arrangement, but honestly my plants have gotten so big this season to where I don’t even have pots big enough to repot a lot of them right now. 😫 so I just had to use them for one plant, which is fine because honestly those plants both need more space to grow. (Photos 2-3) I put my Graptopetalum ‘Superbum’ in the pot that I took my Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ out of. It had slowed growth & the dirt just seemed kinda hydrophobic. I’m hoping to see a little growth before I have to bring it in during winter. (Photo 4) Lastly, the Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ looks like it’s starting to form a flower stalk.. it’s never bloomed before, I’m hoping me repotting it while it’s actively trying to flower isn’t gonna stunt or affect it. Hit up a yard sale today, actually two but I had some good luck at the first one. They had lots of plants & pots (even better they were teracotta!). I got the two bowls for 2$ a piece, they usually go for about 15-20$ at Home Depot or Walmart, so It was a score in my book. I also got a 6 inch teracotta pot for 75 cents (not pictured, will add in comments), & a plant riser for 50 cents. (Photos 4&5) I repotted my moonstone into the 6 inch pot & also divided it. I knocked off a few leaves, so I decided to prop them. (photo 2) I also went by Home Depot & picked up the extra-large bag of cactus soil, so in turn- I was finally able to pot up my starfish aloe. (Photo 4) All in all it was a great plant day/plant chore day. One of my Tiger Jaws and my Christmas Sleigh Aloe are flowering! First time for both of them. I just transitioned them from outside all spring/summer to indoors. My Tiger Jaws are under a grow light and my Aloes are in a northeast window. They've been inside for about a week now and I've been keeping an eye out for signs of stress but, these were nice surprises. I'm happy they're happy. #freshleaffriday Magpie's newest leaf is lookin gobsmackin gorgeous after taking forever to open up ☆v☆ I love the fenestrations when they get like this. Just look at the lil tiny hole on the inner part of the leaf <3 And Flareblitz' bloom is keepin on steady so far ☆w☆ can't wait to see what the flowers look like Suprise! To me. I got suprise plants. The soil from Ace apparently has seeds in it and now I'm kinda just letting them grow until I know what they are and can move them so they don't crowd my string of hearts. The grass (pretty sure it's grass) will be gotten rid of prbably, but the other one I have np idea what it is. Mystery soil. A few more pictures from today 🌿 1. Autumn fern - so many new leaves and they are growing so fast ! 2. Gasteraloe ‘Apollo’ - this guy grows SO slow 🤨 I’m trying to be patient but it hasn’t really done much since I’ve gotten it.. 3. Haworthia - two new leaves are peaking out, this one is a slow grower too but she finally showed some appreciation 🤣😏 4. Pickle plant- this plant really has done phenomenal, it continues to grow new pickles 🤩 5. Aloe ‘firebird’ a gift from @vvvelo from a giveaway last year!
