My #Alocasia Black Velvet is not very happy and I鈥檓 at a loss as to why. My silver dragon on the other hand is perfectly happy. I got both about 2 weeks ago. I鈥檓 wondering if that bottom leaf is just dying. I鈥檓 very new to tropical plants and still trying to figure them out. I鈥檝e heard Black Velvets can be temperamental as well. I鈥檓 not sure if it鈥檚 just still adjusting to its new environment or what. I water when the soil starts to get dry, it鈥檚 decently humid in the room it鈥檚 in and consistently between 72-76掳F with it being on the cooler end at night. It鈥檚 in the same mix as my other alocasia which is doing fine which consists of part coco coir, part perlite, part foxfarm soil (very, very small part), orchid bark, and there are bits of leca but not much. It鈥檚 mostly orchid bark, coco coir, and perlite tbh. It鈥檚 under grow lights but also receives a bit of north facing window light but most of it comes from the grow lights. Maybe too much or too little light? It was purchased as a starter plant so it came in a soil plug and the seller said not to remove it. I鈥檓 wondering if that might be the problem but again, my silver dragon is in one too and doing perfectly fine. Oh and no pests. I鈥檓 stumped. The top leaf seems to mostly do fine but that bottom one just continues to curl in and droop. I know this was long but does anyone have any ideas? #AlocasiaAddicts #alocasiablackvelvet #NotSoHappyPlants #TropicalPlants
