Well, I forgot to bring water 💦 to room temperature 😞 and it’s too cool & cloudy ☁️ to garden outside so I’m just gonna have to admire my oasis 😊 🪴 🌱!! I can water later…. I never get tired of looking at Hoya flowers 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 and the Krimson Queen is my oldest and favorite 🤫 Hoya. For favorite leaves what beats a good Silver Dragon 🐉 leaf?!? 💚🩶 There are baby succulents maturing alongside the mommas 😊. And SOP soaking up some cloudy day rays with the ZZ 🍃🪴🫛☁️. The light meter is registering under 1000 FC even right up against the window today so no worries 😅 they’ll get too much ☀️ 🕶️🌅🌞. What’s happening with you & your plants 🪴 today? I learned a lot about plants today! I’m visiting my family in Florida and found some shrubs that looked like ZZ Plants outside of the mall. I recognized a big fruit stalk in the middle of one of the plants, like the ones that Monsteras can grow. So I decided to take a few seeds to try and grow myself a #ZZPlant when I get home. But upon further research, it turns out these aren’t ZZ Plants at all! I got so used to seeing common houseplants just absolutely thriving outdoors in Florida like Crotons and Birds of Paradise, so I just assumed it was a mature ZZ. According to Reddit, these seeds come from a common plant in Florida called a Coontie Palm, and they’re actually how ZZ Plants got their scientific namesake! I’m still going to try grow them to see if I can make anything happen, but I’m keeping an open mind so I don’t get my feelings hurt if they don’t sprout 😅 #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PlantID #PlantHaul #

#ZzPlant I had a plant that seemed to be doing well, but over time 2 of 3 stalks went belly-up. In the process of repotting, it appears that all the rhizomes have rotted away. The one remaining good stalk (green leaves) only has roots but the roots are solid. Another stalk where the leaves are already quite yellowed also has good roots but no rhizomes. (See pic). Both stalks are firm at the base. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Here I go again.... With this LECA! This time I am trying to get this zz plant to take. I found this glass a while back on a thrift store haul and have been trying to figure out what I can do with it. Even though my drinking days are long behind me, I still thought it was pretty neat looking. So I been rooting this zz "stalk" since I brought the plant home (a rescue of course because my local box store hates plants and just tortures them relentlessly) the stalk just jumped right outta the pot when I got it home. The rest of the plant is doing well now and I planned to just stick this one back in but the mother has pushed out 3 new stalks and 4 and 5 have already poked out. So experiment we shall! I have no idea if a zz CAN live in LECA but I think this thing is up for the challenge. The roots are very robust and green from the grow light so I think they might like a little shade....I just have one question if you please...
