Shamrock Surprise I thought my shamrock had died, so I put the pot outside with other pots with only soil in them. Soon after it surprised me with one shoot! Soon afterward it became as full as you see it! Then today it has 2 light lavender 🌸 flowers, again a great surprise because it never flowered inside. Left is the plant in the sun to take a good picture of it. Second is where it usually sits, against the house with others not in full sun. Third is the picture of the surprise flowers. What a treat! Trip to Plant Store We visit the plant store Bloomora Botanicals in Tipp City every few months. This time my trip yielded these new plants for me. Back, Parallel Peperomia, Philodendron Billietae, Philodendron Pedatum. Front, Philodendron Pink Marble, Monstera Thai Constellation, Peperomia Rosso, and Purple Passion. Many are tiny. With the exception of Purple Passion, I have not had these before. I love unusual looking plants and those that are new to me. Any helpful thoughts or tips are welcome! Went to another local spot today and came home with a few new babies~ 🥰 The bleeding heart and angel wing senecio were both wishlisters, but the begonias and tradescantias were to fill a few pots out more. To Be Planted I just received these flower seeds I ordered from Baker Creek for the first time. @SwiftMedeola , I am going to mix them up with the ones you sent me. They will get planted directly into soil in 2 weeks, which is when I will plant my tomatoes and start on the flowers. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #OutdoorGrowing #Zone6ers #OhioGang I always use zone 6 last frost date, now it’s May 14 (10% chance of frost).

Spring Flowers Uodate These are about a week old cause the last time I tried to post them it wouldn’t work. I will take more this weekend. Tulips really pop up just overnight. SOMETHING UNEXPECTED OMG 😱 OMG 😳 OMG 😱!!!!!! DO YOU SEE THE NEW TEENY TINY LEAVES coming from these two leaves I planted at least a year ago??????? I was about to give up on them. A friend leaving my work area removed her plant from our mutual plant table and before she left, these two leaves jumped out at me, wanting to start a new life. Her entire plant was red, and that is why I wanted a cutting. But since then the red color has faded, although I have been careful to give them sufficient light. Anyway, I brought them home and had them in water quite awhile until I had a good amount of root growth. Then, potted them in soil and carefully cared for them. It has been so long that I have planned to get them out of there and see if the roots had rotted or what. So last week it looked like new growth was starting and today I am sure! OMG it might not look like much but I am sure all you plant people understand the feeling!! WHOOPPEE!!! SHARING SPRING GARDEN PROGRESS The front perennial garden is finally in full spring swing with daffodils and hyacinths in fine shape and some early yellow tulips just beginning. Some of these are different views or days with the same flowers. I love them and love to take their pictures, so bear with me! Decided I’ve had enough of the icky weather and am pushing forward with positive vibes. Outdoor and Indoor Sharing Left picture is current state of outdoor perennial garden….greens still coming up, with one daffodil trying to get its flower out. No other flowering yet. The crocuses are fading. Right picture is my new triostar stromanthe (phone wanted to say stroganoff). Husband and I are thrilled that the light comes through the underside of the leaves in a way that accentuates the beautiful deep rose color of the undersides of the leaves. Also the way the leaves respond to the light so quickly, moving straight up or straight out sideways. A Vision of the Future (This Summer) This morning I retrieved some pictures of my zinnia garden for some Greggers talking about attracting bees. When I did that I got excited about growing again this summer and the flowers MADE ME want to post a sample of their pictures. I grow flowers all around my Ohio home and here is a sampling of former gardens. Last year I had barely gotten on Greg but this year, I will be posting all these guys AGAIN! Hope we don’t have any extended periods of below zero before spring. The purple are crocuses. Some have been out and some starting to bloom. Their optimism is infectious! This Morning, Early Woke up, turned on grow lights, saw my scindapus(sp) actually looked this good!! Had to take a pic and share. Usually, no matter how correct I am on when it needs water, it has more than just one curled-up leaf! YAY! I am NOT a morning person and if I had my druthers, 5:30 AM would not exist. So this made my day! BTW we had 70 degrees yesterday and will go up to 32 today. My spring bulbs sure picked an interesting climate to be bought in.
