I've usually got at least one half-unfurled leaf or microscopic pup by the time #freshleaffriday rolls around that I forget to show off 😭 I'll throw in some #whatthesuccwednesday in appreciation of my new acquisitions (long story short, the driveway is getting graded and these guys were dangerously close to the red) and exploding ox tongue. I've never had a philo before, I don't have much of a hand with tropicals and didn't expect it to enjoy the desert like it has been. It's a great addition to the kitchen, and holds the sign that warns guests my hot water will scald. My own little inside joke as he loves the steam. The tiny brownspine prickly pear, I almost ran over and ran late collecting instead, pictured framed by the pencil cactus that ended up being the most difficult of the lot. Still only ended up with about 20 glochlids. The rainbow siblings, I've been eyeing for months. Finally found time without a four year old underfoot to excavate them. Helloooo planty people 🫶🏼🌿 It’s Thursday, and today I have cooked vegetables like I’m a real life grown person. I have also spent the morning dancing to the Eiffel 65 radio on Spotify, LOL, AND I did laundry!! Where is my medal and certificate?? 🏆🥇😂 It’s time to gather at #TheWateringHole aka #brunchataudreys . We were talking and felt like #TheWateringHole better represents who we are now…a casual and fun group that likes to hang out and chat about plants, no shaming or gatekeeping, experts and beginners all intertwined and supporting each other. I was looking around at my next oldest plants! 🪴 I rarely show my succulents, but here’s a peek at 1️⃣“Ursula” my mama aloe plant who is just as old as my 16 year old golden pothos “Phyllis.” (Who was named when I thought she was a philodendron 😂) 2️⃣ & 3️⃣ then next is “Aristotle” my 7 year old lace aloe, and a small selection of his pups. I repotted him when his 33 pups were threatening to evict him from his pot! 4️⃣ evidence of my adulthood…look at all those cooked vegetables 🥗 lol. And one of my favorite cookbooks “The Everlasting Meal,” by Tamar Adler, I like it because it’s like a philosophy and stories with recipes thrown in too, so it’s actually a cookbook you can sit down and read. If we've ever interacted, you probably know I live in the Chihuahuan desert. Thus, I get to encounter a lot of cactuses in the wild (and will occasionally mark their locations for later). The cholla were there when I inherited the house. The golden barrel cactus was doing Poorly inside so I put him out for the summer sun and monsoon season. The Christmas cholla was a surprise as I was headed down my driveway, the fruit caught my attention and I totally stole a bunch of pups 😅 The rainbow cactus have been in my peripheral for months and I finally found time to nab them. Hooray cactus patch, that is all 🥰 Terrible lighting is terrible. Helloooo planty people 🌿💕 It’s Wednesday morning at #TheWateringHole here at #brunchataudreys , I’ve knocked over three plants and walked into a wall once, BUT ITS OKAY. I’ve found a new podcast that I’m really enjoying, so while I’m cleaning up after myself I get to nerd out listening to a nerd talk about plant care. @princesspitstop recommended this one to me: The Houseplant Coach by Veronica Oh Happy. And that got me thinking, do you all have any favorite plant podcasts, or online resources that you go to for plant care? It’s such a fine line between misinformation, basic care, expert knowledge. The host of the podcast I recommended kind of reminds me of @SuperbRaspfern , not with AS much experience as Shannon, but she’s very curious about the whys and digs deep into the science. I got a surprise day off today so I am puttering around my plants and excited about some mycorrhizae inoculant I have coming today. Alright #CactusClique, Google’s summary gave me 3 different suggestions. Can anyone tell me when would be best to repot in relation to watering? I got it in the mail 5 days ago, so I don’t think repotting right now would be a good idea anyway. It looks super healthy tho. No apparent stress. I waited 3 days before bottom watering my new succulents like the website recommended #SucculentLove #SucculentSquad

Finally got my plant room organize for winter 🙌🏻🤩 I’m so happy with how much more room I have & how much better it looks. Although I still need to get a few grow lights, it just ain’t in the budget right now 🤣.. I got the lamp & kitty picture (photo 1) for my birthday on Wednesday from my grandma & I thought they would both look awesome in my plant room. I also have my #NewPlants my mom got me set up on the table with my humidifier since you guys told me Philos & Hoyas like humidity 😏 #PlantCorner Picture two & three are the top of my plant shelf, I have it decorated as of now but that may change if I don’t end up having enough space for my plants 😬 I have my seashells displayed, & other plant related Knick knacks & my mushrooms 🍄 My new mushroom planter is super cute 🥰 a gift from my Boyfriend for my birthday. Photo 4 is over view of my plant corner, with all of my shelves & my storage shelf for my plants tools/fertilizers etc. Lastly I couldn’t finish the post up without a #BloomingSuccs photo. 🤭 Aloe ‘Delta Lights’ is growing a flower I think, yay! It’s put a lot of new growth at the top of the plant since I repotted it into a much bigger pot. Some propagation updates 🌱 for #succulentsaturday I repotted a few of them in a size bigger pot, because they seemed to need more room a bit quicker then I expected. I also started some new props, of my Moonstone & Sedeveria ‘Lilac Mist’ (Sedeveria will be in comment section). The Sedeveria actually took like two weeks to even start rooting but they have all started growing roots 🙏🏻 as well as the moonstone, I also have a random Graptopetalum Superbum & graptoveria Opalina that have started rooting as well (not pictured). 1. My #Hoya Burtoniae has gotten such pretty stress colors from being in her new home in the skylight! She is absolutely thriving and sending out lots of new vines and leaves. Excited! Never mind the sap in the pics, I accidentally knocked one leaf off being clumsy 🙃 Bonus #DogsOfGreg #PetsOfGreg #PetsAndPlants picture of Cody the Pomeranian 🥰 He is sooo happy to have me home, little does he know my car has broken down again and I’m waiting to see if I’m royally screwed or not (praying it’s fixable and not insanely expensive). The blissful ignorance of not being human. I envy it. 🥲 On a fun note, a sunflower seed appears to have somehow gotten into a poinsettia pot this summer while it was outside, and has just sprouted! (I confess I forgot to water the poinsettia for a long while 🤭) so I guess I’ll try to grow this little bébé as well as I can indoors in the autumn/winter.
