Monday again 🫩.. I repotted some of my cacti together this weekend with my new Sol Soil mix.. I can’t wait to see how they do. My birthday is Wednesday & tomorrow I will be celebrating one month sober! It’s the first birthday I’ve had sober in 5 years so I’m very excited and proud! My ruby necklace has a lil flower! 🌼 My moonstone also has two forming flower stalks I’m hoping I will get to see atleast one of them bloom before it gets too cold and I have to bring them inside because I’m not sure if they will continue to flower or try to flower indoors. 😬 I took my Echeveria Blue Atoll out of the pot I put my cacti in, and had to go out to buy a new pot since I didn’t have anything big enough for it!! My princess getting the princess treatment this morning In her spa 🤗🛁🫧 I cannot believe how long, bushy & healthy she is! My boyfriend got this for me about two or three years ago on my first birthday we shared together. It’s a very special plant to me! She was so small when I first got her compared to now. I have struggled with strings & have had lots of ups & downs with them when it comes to caring for them & keeping them alive, but this baby has always been forgiving with me & has given me grace. 🫶🏻 & for that I thank her & treat her extra special & extra care to be fragile with her & her delicate long tendrils.. 🥹 I only bottom water her, and I keep her outside until winter in my screened in porch. I have her in a shallow teracotta pot for good drainage. I love her one all white tendril she has, it’s so cool to me. Hello #GregGang 😁 The cold months definitely kicked my butt, was so focused on keeping the plant gang warm and alive so I didn’t spend to much time buying new plants…. Until NOW! 🤗 I scored a #Alocasia #StringOfBananas and a #StringOfPearls. This is my first time getting a String of Pearls and Bananas so any advice on how to care properly for these guys is definitely needed please! Some plantivities from this weekend and past week! ✨ 1/2- finally got my silver satin pothos on her moss pole I made. I know it’s not supposed to be sideways but for now that’s just how it’s gonna be. I don’t have a large enough pot to repot her currently and I could tell just having her sit in the window was messing up how her leaves were growing informing, so I decided to just lay the pole beside it for now, hopefully this will help until I can repot. #PothosPack #SilverSatinPothos #MossPole 3- my white fusion calathea has a new leaf! It’s grown two new leaves since I’ve had her. My mom decided to water with tapwater so her old leaves now have crispy tips. 😭 but I have her now so she won’t be suffering from anymore tap water lol. #CalatheaCrew #Calathea #WhiteFusionCalathea 4/5- progress pics of my ‘String Of Bananas’ . Some cool things I’ve saw so far today! (1.) A cicada on the OUTSIDE (thank goodness 😳) of our back porch! Has anyone else seen anything about the cicadas coming out? I haven’t heard any of them making noise (that I know of) quite yet, but I’m kinda in a suburban area of our city. 🏙️ 🌿 (2-3.) Also I I see lots of people asking about help for string of pearls and (recently my grandma asked me for some help on her SOP) so I screenshotted this post & knew yall would love it too! These are awesome tips for first time pearl owners, (aka things I didn’t do with all my first go round of strings! 😆👏🏻) (4.) ‘Heart shaped’ #Succulents update..!💕🪴😆 Two of my favorites - Calico Hearts & String Of Hearts (Variegated). 🌿 My Baby calico hearts *FINALLY* started putting off some new growth, it’s been at a weird standstill for a while, I wasn’t quite sure why.. it hadn’t put off any new growth despite being in proper light & consistent watering schedule. I decided to repot about two weeks ago, & it has since finally showing signs of new growth. (Photos 1&2) it’s tiny, but I know those are new leaves! I have a larger one that has also been a fast grower, so I was confused as to why all the sudden it slowed growth. I think it needed a repot! repotted my Variegated String Of Hearts last night! 💕🌿 I’m so happy I finally repotted it was a little root bound, and I wanted to add a spiller to my new tiered pot I got last week. I’m not quite done but I’m getting there! I made some special soil mix just for the hearts, because they can be a little fussy. I used cactus soil, sand, orchid bark, perlite, & bonsai jack gritty mix. It’ll be acidic which most succs like, and it will be well draining as well. I can’t wait to see how it responds to the repot. So Greg is insistent that this is a string of dolphins but I’ve checked thoroughly and there are no fins in here. Additionally, maybe it’s the name and lack of true identity, but Flippa is losing leaves and drooping. Her lower stems are woody if that would help with id-ing her. Current condition is cover photo.
