Happy #FreshLeafFriday everyone šŸŒæ Today I went my favorite locally owned nursery, I went because Iā€™m already having *cringe* FUNGUS KNATS šŸ˜« ā€¦ I havenā€™t even moved my plants inside yet is the worst part. Itā€™s just my props that are inside on my plant shelf right now. Anyways I went looking for some sticky traps that you can put in your pots. My grandma gave me one a few months back & it seems to have caught a lot of knats, etc. I have been trying to find more so I could put them in my other pots indoors, but couldnā€™t seem to find them at Home Depot or Walmart. It came with 24 but they were $13.99! šŸ˜³ Iā€™m almost ashamed to say that I spent that much on them, however Iā€™m used to the this nursery being a bit pricy (most locally owned places tend to be a bit more expensive then big box stores). Since I couldnā€™t find them anywhere else & it was an emergency Iā€™m not too upset about the price. šŸ˜¬ I didnā€™t end up coming home with any new plants today, *pats self on back* (it was only because they donā€™t carry many succulents during this time of year). But I did get a planter & some premade gritty cactus mixā€¦ the soil was also RIDICULOUSLY expensive for the amount I got.. (21.99 for 2.2 lbs) it is very gritty & looks like a good quality mix. Since Iā€™ve recently been more interested in cacti than usual, I decided to get this instead of the premade gritty succulent mix they had. Although I know the basic care for cacti, I still have trouble with them sometimes, they will be fine & then they will just die on me or just not grow, idk if they go dormant or what. There are so many little things about every type of cactus they are very specific as far as care goes etc. anyways my point is hoping this soil mix will keep them happy & prevent rot or overwatering. I used the new soil mix in my new pot with one of my new cactuses I got the other day, I also put a sedeveria ā€˜Spring Jadeā€™ & a little piece of sedum in the middle. Just got these guys today! Was told they were watered on Thursday. They seem pretty dry. Is that ok? The wandering Jew seems a little angry. Iā€™m also wondering about the soil on the string of hearts. I know it needs well draining soil, but it seems thereā€™s less soil than perlite. Also, the roots are pretty much exposed at the top. āš ļøMOLD HELPāš ļø Hello, plant fam, Iā€™m in need of some identification and mabey some advice. I found these pots that I was planning on planting some seedlings in in my greenhouse which are now blanketed with this mold. Any idea on this type of mold? Is it harmless or harmful for my soil/plants? Any advice? Could it possibly be from the mycorrhizae we added to the soil? Can it spread to other pots through the air? How To Use? How do I use these rocks for #Succulents and #Cacti ? Do I mix them in with the soil or put them on top of the soil? If I mix them in with the soil, how much should I use? UNPOPULAR OPINION!!! šŸ“£šŸ“£šŸ“£That fancy Chunky Ariod Mix that some of you use for #Alocasia is a sham and does more harm to those plants than good when used as the primary soil medium; it may also cause them to die šŸ“£šŸ“£šŸ“£!!! šŸ“£šŸ“£šŸ“£Alocasia benefits more from being treated like succulents soil-wise.
