Patience is key when growing plants. Some plants grow extremely slow. I found this happens most with seedlings. It takes a long time to get plants past the “two inch pot” phase. We are still working on getting our baby #Anthurium out of it but here’s the update: (Left to Right) 1. Our baby #AnthuriumWarocqueanum (2)went from seed in January to multiple leaves. 2. Our hitchhiker #AnthuriumRegale we found in the root stock of an older regale has two leaves. 3. Our #NOIDAnthurium that was in a #ZaraAnthurium looks more like a #vittarifolium. It’ll be interesting to see them progress. I know for sure that the #QueenAnthurium are #AnthuriumInverse. Last night I did something exhilarating 🙈🤩💕 I CHOPPED MY QUEEN ANTHURIUM! I’m sending the two chopped pieces to two of my favourite greggers. Gordo and Poison Ivy (sorry Laura 😭 move away from evil WA hahah) Please send your good vibes to the new babies and mother plant! I have never chopped such a precious plant (Or Anthurium!) before! Pic 1) Prepared to chop! Cinnamon, razor blade, alcohol and perlite tubs. Pic 2) Roots before the chop Pic 3) Slowly teasing the soil away Pic 4 and 5) The babies! Hi #GregGang! Today in #CarolinesWinterGarden , we are saying goodbye to Adeya our very first #QueenAnthurium! Her backstory: I purchased her from someone, not a nursery, and she made me fall in love with all Anthuriums. 😁 In her time with me, she went through moments of beautiful growth and torturous leaf loss, multiple times. I quickly understood that she was sickly. No matter what I tried, she would lose foliage and was unable to hold on to any very long. I’m not sure how old she was but she seemed to be an apartment sized plant (the Esmeralda) and not the larger queen. It didn’t matter. She was still loved and will always be loved for teaching us about Anthurium care. We learned a lot! 😅 Well, she’s been slowly dying back and while I’ve waited for her to decide whether she wants to go or stay, I’ve kept a watchful eye; today, it’s apparent she’s too tired and has decided to go. 😐 We aren’t upset since she’s given us so much knowledge and shared her beauty with many as well as inspired many to consider welcoming Anthurium into their home. We’ve enjoyed her presence and the fuss she brought to our lives. It’s been good and we hope to find another Queen that will sit in her place and live a long life amongst the original Adeya’s mini kingdom. My 2 baby #QueenAnthurium are growing. I just love these plants and can’t wait did them to grow. Their mama is magnificent and every time I see them, I think of her.
